I kept hearing Winanako was bringing out a better version because the current one was horribly slow?? did he bring it out yet?

No but there is a backup loader that works near to flawless with 98% of games.

Google "wii backup loader 0.3 gamma" for more info

Gamma is not that slow, i hardly notice it. The intro movie on Mario galaxy plays like crap though, but that's the only issue i have had.

There is rumors of a new loading coming out from some polish fellows that is said to run at 6X. But there has been no proof, as of yet.

Check gbatemp.net for wii loader updates.
