No it wasn't, you fucking dipshit. I worked for it.
It's these useless twats who rationalizes their self-defeatist attitude by blaming the universe. Such annoying wastes of flesh.
And before some defender of "luck" comes in and starts talking about this, just go ahead and end yourselves before you strike that keyboard. No, no, no need to type another character, just end yourself. Do yourself the favor.
[Now, if you wish to argue probability with me - that's another thing, if something improbable occurs, then it's improbable. I'm fine with that. Some people do crash in airplanes, it's an improbable event, but it does occur. But some people seem to think that it's some magical event when they eg. get debts, lose their girlfriend, etc. - "Oh no, I was so unlucky". It's pretty much the same thing with everything that people make up to NOT have to take responsibility for their own lives. If you lost that girl, not by your choosing - you failed. Plain and simple. There is no roll of the dice anywhere, it's your actions and who you are as a person that didn't work out. You want to blame some mythical notion about luck for your ineptitude to protect your tiny ego, fine. But please end yourself right after you do it. Thank you very much.] |
You're taking it far too literally. When someone uses the term 'bad luck' it's figurative; commonly in reference to an occasion when an event outside of your control has an outcome which conflicts with your objective.
I've never heard of someone referring to a series of life choices leading to a poor job or debt as being because of 'bad luck'.

Still, it's completely illogical. "I was unlucky" in any sense is projecting ones own lack of aptitude on an external factor. I don't really care if it's figurative or not, it's a lame ass excuse for not taking charge of your life.
It's really connected to some people I know though that keep blaming lack of luck for failing at life in general. They keep saying "oh, just my luck, I go out and it's raining". People that take any little vain event and blow it out of proportion and try and make it into them being the masters of improbability. Like as there was some magical factor that made "them unlucky" instead of realizing in 7 cases out of 10 it's their own fault, and in the other three, they're just overreacting about petty stuff.

Good for you. I know at least two. And know of a few more. These two dudes are now living on social welfare and blame everyone but themselves for where they are, everything from parents to addiction to alcohol, or "that nasty ass girlfriend". I tend to be really obnoxious to them about it and then they go on their "Man, I'm unlucky. It's just how it is... "
Talking about luck in that manner is just making up an excuse about not wanting to take charge of your life. And these cretins just make me ticked off.
