how many gb takes when copying games in hdd? i have 20gb disk and only 12gb are usable, so i can only copy 1 game right?

Gonna wait 'til Nov 19th... Don't wanna get screwed whatsoever... 
It seems to have some really nice features though. Can't wait!
BTW, it's a bit lame that with a 20GB HDD, you can't install more than one game..... And the price of those stand-alone HDDs...

This seems to be an intentional "after effect" of the beta from what I can tell speaking to people in #fw (probably because some of the new dashboards live features are not finished and would die if live was enabled). Still, it is a little worrying, I'd love some confirmation from a beta participant.
I wouldn't worry though dizturbd.

Not too worried, just upset that I didn't do any research. Too excited to see it in action. It is very nice, but I can't even create an avatar. The reason I'm upset is because every Friday night is when me and 3 or 4 close friends play games over LIVE. So, for a couple weeks I won't be joining them. |

I want this update also. Don't want to wait until the 19th plus I rarely go on Live even though I have a gold account. Are you guys sure that we can connect back to live after this update is released to the public at the end of the month?

One of the reasons why MS was able to detect backups was to do with Jitter checks or something like that, but if you can run games from the HD during game play does this mean less chances of being banned.

Well I decided to do some time tests. When I put GTAIV into the drive it took 1m 25s to load the game (drive is flashed to 8x), installed the game and it took 54s to load.

Just a word of caution for those with banned consoles, I installed the update via usb stick and everything is fine until you try and play a divx file. Seems the update wipes all your video codecs out during installation. In short, if you use your 360 as a media streamer DO NOT update as you will not be able to watch XVID or DIVX movies.

I burn the file on CD-R and I don't see anything
even later burned folder $SystemUpdate still nothing and even futher burned _SystemUpdate folder and it still wont install and all I get is "Mixed Disk" ><

Actually I didn;t do that but I copied those files again to my mp3 player and connected that mp3 player to xbox and it worked!

But what if November 19th comes and this leaked dash never updates..
EDIT: I did it! just copied the folder to the root of my USB flash drive and turned the Xbox on with the flash drive plugged in and it just updated like any ordinary update. OMG this new dashboard is freakin AWESOME!!!!!!! Ultra smooth 
I installed fable 2 on the HDD just to check out the feature for myself. DEFINITELY loads the game much faster.

I LOVE THE NEW NXE!!!
games run much faster from hdd no textur loading problems!
the xbox is noise!!! no more disc scratching by playing games!!!!!

I installed this with my HDD plugged in. Needed to play some LIVE tonight, so I traded 360's with a friend. My TV wouldn't recognize his video settings, so I plugged in my HDD to see if that would help. Still no help. I then went online and found that if you hold Y and the right trigger while the console is booting, the video settings will reset to default. Well, somehow during this process my HDD infected my friend's 360 with the new NXE as well. Now I'm screwed, I give up, and am going to play something offline.

How long does it take to dump the Iso on the HDD to play it , on the PS3 is like 10 to 20 mins

I installed farcry2 and went back to check after 8min and it was done. So under 8 min. The install size was listed as 4.7GB

can i ask a couple of questions?
1 After its installed can you remove the disk completely? Im asking this as the guy above siad farcry 2 was under 5gig install.
2Will external usb drives not work for running games like you can with media?

Thats a Joke!!
Now MS added 16:10 but NO 1920x1200 LOL! What a crap!
Is it a Problem to output 1920x1200?...but 1680x150 is the maximum for 16:10.
So all Users with a 24" Ttt can only use the old 1920x1080 (still little bit stretched to 16:10,or black bars).
Now they get black bars in 1680x1050 because the new 16:10 Output is letterboxed! Cant be true! I was waitign for this Update to use 1920x1200 ,finally.
And now i have to use 1920x1080 again. Ok, my iiyama b2403ws scales very good in VGA and the Image looks still very good scaled to 16:10

i updated,looks sweet and runs smooth,problem is u lose all ur media updated and cause u can't connect to live im unable to view avi files etc,is there anywhere i can get the media update offline and put it on usb?
