More people would understand given you live under their circumstances. Not that Im condoning the bullshit going on in that video but if you've spent any time in a poverty stricken are you'd understand why people behave as they do.
There are places around here I am hesitant to even walk out of my car to but at the same time there are places where Im fine leaving my car on and running inside to grab a snack or whatever. Im sure the same goes for anywhere in the world minus the people who believe their country is superior/more civilized.

yeah people tend to jump to judgments while they grew up in their nice suburban houses , clean schools and many opportunities for high paying jobs
if they grew up in a poor family and went to a public school with no money to continue , I'm pretty sure they'll think otherwise
but nonetheless I still think that "gangsta" attitude and mentality has to disappear even if it takes burning it with a flame thrower

Just that one overarching point to the guys post, based on the title and previous arguments he's been in, is people generalising about America and Americans..
Could be wrong, just thought is was funny that the guy above did the thing that Krazy-Kamel seems to take issue with..

I think the whole thread is flawed from the beginning, because the video actually shows african and asian americans and the comment reads: "wild animals"
so, there are many, many, many ways to misread the post as racist, unfitting to the "subject" or bad trolling. So i didnt expect to find an academic discussion about multi-cultururalism or anti-amerikanism anyways 
and you got to agree, brits are the next best thing we got to americans on this planet, dont we?

sorry, you totally got me wrong there. I didnt think you meant it racist, i just mentionend, that the ways to read into your posting are pointing there, making it a thread with "potential" to go wrong in different ways. So in essence you re reading too much into my post. Especially since i "didnt jump on it". Both my post were meant jocular. If you think, i ve change because i m a mod now, then you might be reading more into my posts than you should...

I'm pretty sure we have to chose our words carefully when we talk about people of different race. it's been a problem since day one. You can't say you people to a bunch of blacks without it sounding racists. But you can say it to a slew or a horde of white folk and they'll giggle and agree. You can't really look at a video of African Americans and say wild animals... that is racist to the core. You may not mean it that way, but it comes off as that. World today is afraid of being racist and everything can be taken out of context. It's funny and sad.

It all depends man
Black ppl have no problem with black/racist jokes as long as they are jokes and they know that the person saying them isnt racist.
but its a whole next thing when you know someone is racist and makes a racial oriented joke...cause its not a joke then is it? they are trying to hide their racist views under the guise of humour |

see, i didnt see it as racist. But that was based on my experience with kamel before, so i took it as a make-fun-of-americans post.
For me any form of joke is ok as long as i know that the person saying it, doesnt actually mean it that way (e.g. a racist telling a racist joke is never funny, but a guy with an impairment joking about his condition or that of others is).

It's a delicate matter, and there are oversensitive and undersensitive people on both sides. The best way is to just shut up and be politically correct concerning these topics. Cause if you relax and joke around, there's always going to be someone who think you are dead serious and will make your life a living pain if you said "What's up nigga!" in a jestful manner.
I did that once to one Afro-American gentleman (over TS), there was a generally good mood prior to the event and we were doing jabs at eachother, and he started to cuss me down and telling me how that was out of line and all sorts of things. It didn't at all matter that I in no way meant it in a disrespectful manner, the meaning behind my words were irrelevant to him.
Since then it's like walking on eggshells (especially with that person) and I pretty much don't talk at all to the guy anymore. He thinks I'm a racist, and no matter how that isn't true - it is that to him.
I guess if you've taken shit about it your whole life, it becomes sort of like the old hammer-nail analogy. If you are a hammer, everything around you looks like a nail waiting to be hammered down. In this case he might just feel like a nail, and all the world is a hammer waiting to get on him.
So I'm generally very cautious these days when I use these words, not because there's anything wrong with the words, and there isn't anything wrong with their meaning (as I mean it) either. But it's something with people. People who hear the words connect them to their own subjective interpretations of what they mean, and then all hell breaks loose (or not).
It's all such a headache sometimes with oversensitive people.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

see but it's us. we know each other here. I'm pretty sure, you can be a funny ass comedian that's not often recognizable, and you walk up to some one of a different ethnicity and say something racist and funny, you won't really be greeted with laughter.
Y'know. It's all in the relationship between people, and a lot of people have a lot of mixed views on racism and jokes. A lot , if not all, of racist jokes play on the stereotype of a race, which in it self is extremely offensive. But if you have a couple black friends and they are ok with those jokes, doesn't really mean everyone else is. Y'know. They know you don't mean it. And they know it's for a fun laugh.
I know a lot of black people who get offended by the simplest racist jokes; what happens when you put your hand inside a jelly-bean jar? The black ones take your watch. It's 'funny' but also extremely racist.
It's all in the context and the relationship you have with your friends/audience. We all have to be careful with the words we use to describe something cause it all can be taken out of context and cause some serious damage to some people. I know he didn't mean it wild animals as to the violent black people beating up on someone, but to generalize the entire American society. Which I dunno if it's ok as it only shows the minority aspect of the American culture. I dunno, it'd be like posting a very vulgar southern video of some racist redneck with one tooth named bill, and say it reflects how all Americans are.
This should be moved to the jokes section though.
These videos for some reason are thrilling to watch. At least to me. While ago i wanted to shoot a fake youtube video similar to that one. But I can't do it now.

so true! And not also with racist-ish talk, with anything and everything. I smoke cigarettes and such and one of my friends was diagnosed with cancer not long ago. Brutal shit to hear, and once a while we chill and i have a smoke after a smoke (chain smoking) and he says I shouldn't smoke, it'll kill me and I once accidentally said I don't care for cancer, it's good for you! You lose your hair, lose weight, why if i were rich and charismatic it'd enforce cancer in the daily diet of every fat person in the world, so they'd in the end die all pretty and skinny.
Needless to say it was over the line. WAY WAY WAY over the line. Thank fuck I stopped talking after i said i don't care for... and substituted the entire rest with; coffee, lets go for sushi instead.
However i do use the rest with other people who aren't afflicted with cancer and they find funny enough to give me a pity laugh when i do my monocle-wearing-douche-bag impression.

I didn't see the connection between the title of the thread and the video either. When the rest of the world thinks about americans in general (not rappers) the image that comes to mind is hardly an african-american. The video has less to do with perceptions about americans and more with confirming racial stereotypes.
Actually that mis-labelling of the thread helped kamel dodge a bullet because imagine if he had named it 'gang violence' or something like that then in that context that 'wild animals' comment would have really raised some eye-brows.
