wizarD, if its video-card related try going back to the 169.21 drivers. That helped me with at least two other games.
It could also be a video-codec problem, if it crashes with the intro-videos. Try to run em from the game-dir (if they are in a normal video-format like avi or similar) to see if they also crash then

nice ok basicaly same as my setup but e6600@3.2 and a gtx card, same soundcard. Make sure you have the latest soundblaster drivers for that one btw, there were also beta oct release ones available, have not checked if they are officialy out yet but will do shortly..
Ill be sure to let you know how i go once the install is complete. Im on 180.42 drivers (beta) and so far no problems in all the new games out at this time..

Quote: | Fallout 3 downloads begun on Steam a few hours hours ago. There was no pre-loading, so as you can imagine, download speeds are less than super awesome at this point (thanks, Brian). Typical speeds are lingering at around 30-50 kps, even on super fast, double wide connections. Valve was unavailable for comment at the time of this posting on whether it would 'flip the big bandswitch' or let things run its own course. |

On GW, or GS, they gave a 9.0 for xbox and pc but only 8.5 for ps3:
"It's a shame, in light of these impressive design elements, that the PlayStation 3 version is shockingly inferior to the others from a technical perspective. Although the Xbox 360 and PC versions display the occasional visual oddity and bland texture, these nitpicks are easy to overlook. Sadly, the jagged edges, washed-out lighting, and slightly diminished draw distance of the PS3 release aren't so easy to dismiss. We also experienced a number of visual bugs on the PS3. Character faces disappeared several times, leaving only eyeballs and hair( -ed); limbs on robots went missing; some character models had an odd outline around them as if they were cel-shaded; and the day-to-night transition may cause odd streaks on the screen as you move the camera around. This version doesn't even offer trophies, whereas the Xbox 360 and PC versions offer Xbox Live/Windows Live achievements."

PS3 always gets shafted. Its a piece of crap, seriously. Fuck all games, and when it does have games they are ALWAYS inferior to every other platform. I'm glad I sold mine, I don't miss it. In my opinion I don't even know why it exists. The only plus is the Bluray player.

To each their own I suppose, but I'm a long-time fan of the original Fallout games and I despise Oblivion.. Fallout 3? fucking loving it right now.
It's not without its faults, of course, but to me the good is outweighing the bad by a huge margin.

Thank fuck for that.
For a second there I thought EVERYone had joined the 'it's cool to hate Fallout 3' bandwagon', while they still secretly play it.

Despite it being old crappy Oblivion engine it looks good and gives great performance. 45 Fps on the big wasteland view here with all on ultra high with X4 AA on single 4850 and PDC @ 3.2Ghz.
But the game feels crappy. The combat is lame except the vats. The game suffered greatly on conversion to real time.

Oblivion was a great game and this is a great game, stop whining.
If you don't like it stop playing it and go play halo 3/counterstrike again like you were doing.

Download it and test it. See if you like it and after maybe few hours of play decide if you want to buy it or not. I'm personly gonna buy the game tomorrow (stopped playing the game few hours ago)
