yes hes is right i think the game is optimized to play with a controller and will play better with a controller than a keyb and mouse,
but its more difficult to aim with a controller so we just have to take the best out of the mouse settings.
also if i have vsync on then the mouse will play much better, just try it.
but its start to be lagy with the vsync on.

Yeah, gonna try with vsync on.
Anyone have an early save they'd like to share? I've tried reinstalling the game half a dozen times, but it still won't let me past that stupid door in the room you get the first gun.

Raap, if the door isn't opening, you need to shoot the purple glowing orb thing next to the door first.
Have you done that already?

Yah, I shoot it and the door opens, some guy's lying on the floor there dying, and then nothing. Can't proceed through the door, no aliens, etc.
Thanks alot for the saves Birdy, works like a charm.

I was googling for solution to regular crashes within the first 5 minutes after starting the game. It doesn't matter whatever starting a new game or loading a previous save. The funny thing is if game didn't crash with the first 5 minutes it will work forever
I didn't find solution to my problem but I found an awesome tweak for the mouse problems.
First two steps are from the current method
1) Disable V-Sync in game
2) Adjust Mouse Sensitivity to the max
Now, the tweak. Open nVidia Control Panel and adjust global settings(or create profile for the game)
3) Set Triple buffering to On
4) Set Vertical sync to Force on
On my rig, this make mouse smooth and very responsible. The difference between just turning v-sync off in game and forcing it on alongside with triple buffering thru nVidia control panel is astonishing. Give it a try

Very nice trick man. This gives you both the responsive running-view that you have with vsync on, but it also gets rid of the delayed mouse movement that in-game vsync caused.

Yep, I am in seventh Heaven... also with this tweak the mouse behavior in aim mode is much more closer to a standart FPS
EDIT: Wow, I even had to lower the Mouse Sensitivity a little bit as it become too fast for me to handle

Fantastic game. Wasn't really expecting much of it.
But is really well done and polished.
I don't find it to be scary, but I like the "cinematic" feeling of it.
It's a great mix of "Alien" with "The Thing".
And I don't mind the MOUSE+KEYBOARD combo. It works well for me.
Turning and aiming is kinda slow, but okay for this kind of game.
Not even close how bad RE4 was.

Finally finished it. Just in time for Fallout 3 tonight too!
Great game. I'd give it a 9.5 on my non-retard scale of reviewing.
It only loses points for being difficult to control at first, but half way through I was a master at it.
One of the best game of the year so far without a doubt.

One of the best loading times in the recent history of gaming.
2.8Ghz (yes...single core)
7800GS
3G ram
Loading times never go above 5 seconds. The longest is the first load..most of the time I barely have enough time to read the title of the new chapters as the loading screens just flash by. Reading the tips/tricks messages are borderline impossible.

Strictly speaking, loading is mostly based on how quick your HD's are. Get a couple of Raptors and put them in Raid0 and you'll see very decent loading times.

Ugh...
Spoiler: | Story really drawed me in, watched the anime movie. All that suspense building up towards the end, and then such a unfullfilling ending... Sigh, wasted hours. |

This game really rocks. Just like Resident Evils and Cold Fear. In front of this FarCry 2 is quite crap even they aren't even in the same genre. Dead Space makers should do one Resident Evil for us PC players

can someone post a screenshot of Isaac Clarke's face?..not the ID he has at the very beginning of the game at his "clothing" but the 3D face...if not, this is another suckage from many game creators...just like Half Life..there's no mirrors so you cant see your face (half life)...thou in F.E.A.R you can see the character's head but with HELMET on one of the game's buildings' mirrors...also they talk like "SHUT UP PLAYER,WE TALK,U KILL" ..
Anyways the game's awesome, hard 2 aim to the limbs (arms, legs) bcz the monsters are fast as fuck..
