Im using the full rip version of this game and I accidentally chose the wrong language on first run. I tried going through the menu/setting(even though iono what the fuck it says) but I still can't find the right option. Is there any way to change it back to english through any config files or registry? (oh yeah, i tried looking for a config file in my documents, game directory, and roamingdata in vista but couldn't find anything)

It also makes sense.

Thanks for clarifying

pd: There is some way to make a shorcut to this process? To avoid having to do it manually every time I run it?

If you don't have a ton of background programs running to begin with changing the priority shouldn't matter. (i think)

When you game check all running processes and close down everything. If you don't take good care of your computer you can have TONS of crap sucking up resources that you are unaware of.

Just finished it. Awesome game! Only faults I can pick with it are the controls are initially quite cumbersome, but they grow on you quickly. And the physics are a bit OTT (brushing past a corpse will cause it to flip around like crazy).. otherwise, excellent overall. It's not often I play games like this to the end, but it had me hooked from start to finish.

¿Do u solved it putting in task manager high priority to the process?

Because if u do that, should be fixed in a "future patch" (I am sure that this is a problem of the single core)

pd: if u fixed in that way ¿who can i do a shorcut to that step?

I have single core also!
I bet 95% of the people who have choppy sound have single core!

I use ''Process Lasso''!
You can download the freeware from here:
http://www.bitsum.com/prolasso.php

Install Process Lasso>Open game(dead Space)>hit ALT+TAB>open Process Lasso that you have in the System tray>look for ''DEAD SPACE.EXE>right click on it>look for ''Default Priority (each time run)''>set it as you like>JOB DONE!

Now every time you run Dead Space you have the priority as you set it in Process Lasso by default!
You don't need to change manually from now on!
You can do this with any other game/program.....JUST remember to have Process Lasso in the system tray, because if you don't have the program in system tray the changes will not take effect!

On my computer the program starts with windows from the beginning,so i don't need to open the program, close it...bla bla bla!

Hope it helps!

I'm really impressed with the PC version of Dead Space. Finally there's a good looking, very optimized PC game again. It runs perfectly even on older hardware. And not just with some lame settings - no it runs beautifully even with highest settings. EA did a good job! It seems it really paid off that they're using the old Godfather engine.

The only thing that I don't like is the strange point of view when you're playing in 1280x1024. They player character is too wide on the left side of the screen - you can't even see his left arm sometimes. It feels and looks strange but I guess you can get used to it. Still I think they should have adjusted this for non-widescreen resolutions.

But the program is not nesesary u can do that with a simple command

Go to ur d space shorcut-> propierties
and in the command line add this

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "runhigh" /high

per example:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "runhigh" /high "E:\Juegos\D.Space\Dead Space.exe"
Where is the x u have to put ur installation dir =D

I don't know who compared the mouse/keyboard controls to the ones in Alone in the Dark. Those were awful and imposible to use. These are working great so far.

Hmm, I must be doing something wrong then. These controls are just about the worst ones I've ever tried. When trying to turn with the mouse when walking or running, the view barely moves at all, forcing me to stop if I want to look around or even change direction.

Already had Vsync off. Turning the mouse sensitivity up helped a little, but the controls still feel completely awkward, the way the sensitivity changes based on if you're moving, aiming or standing still.

Anyway, I can't get anywhere in the game. After having taken the lift down, right after the initial attack at the start of the game, I pick up the gun, blast the door controls and open the door. Some guy's lying there screaming, then just dies. I try to go through the door, but can't. No one else experienced this? I've tried restarting 3 times, on different difficulty levels, but it's always the same. From what I read I think there's supposed to be an alien out in the hallway that kills the guy at the door, but there's no alien here Neutral

you can also change the mouse sensitivity in the settings a little bit more if its allready on maximum in the game. i have this (Control.MouseSensitivity = 3.50000000)
i also got the same problem like you but its a little bit better after this now.

The mouse speed is much less when aiming.

However the faster mouse speed when not aiming allows you to instantly aim anywhere, especially doing a 180 turn.

Thanks Birdy, that should help.

My main gripe is the mouse speed when walking and running. Impossible to do any proper maneuvering, so I'm walking into walls all the time.

just get a controller. i'm a keyboard+mouse whore myself, but this game actually plays well with sticks. maybe it's because of the aiming method (laser pointer instead of overlay reticle). but i still don't get it why the devs didn't include a button for 180° turns
