Dead.Space.iNT
Quote: | Dead.Space-iNT
Released on 24/10/2008
Produced by: EA Games
Platform: PC
Gen: Survival Horror
Development
Electronic Arts first announced Dead Space in September 2007. The game was
developed at their studio in Redwood Shores, California, whose other titles
include The Godfather and The Simpsons Game. The game's executive producer,
Glen Schofield, said that the team aimed to create something 'darker and
creepier' than their previous titles: "We are all such huge fans of the
horror and sci-fi genres; we wanted to create the most terrifying game we
could, and keep the player on the edge of their seat the entire time."
The design team reportedly spent time analyzing a wide variety of horror
films in order to find inspiration for in-game scares.
Previews of the game have universally drawn attention to the high levels of
gore and violence in the game, in particular the tactic of 'strategic
dismemberment' when battling the Necromorphs. The aliens cannot be subdued by
a single shot, rather they have to be incapacitated by shooting off their
tentacles and appendages. A series of developer diaries released for the
game had featured one episode about the system, in which developers mentioned
that using conventional tactics, such as aiming for the head or torso would
only serve to aggravate some of the necromorphs. In order to make the
corpses look more realistic, the development team studied photos of car
crash victims.(wow)

heh, what do you say, i have one 8500gt (512mb) here which runs this game just fine on 1280x960, all max except normal shadows and no aa/af
EA managed to optimize the engine this time
though mouse has a delay lag - when you start to move it, it delays (moves smoothly otherwise). is this intentional?
and, well, the shoulder view angle aint for keyboard/pc world..
yes

Probably. I use the PC CLONEDVD and the paul.dll and it works just fine. It even offered me 5 languages, including english.

Mouse+Keyboard i read from much People are just fine in this Game, or not? |
Depends on how you define "fine". This isn't a shooter, people expect accuracy and speed just like in a standard shooter. It's speculation of course, but I'd say it's a design decision, not "broken" like some say.

awesome game, i was shocked at the pure quality of its build.. Im stuck on the part where that thing grabs you as you enter back through the airlock by the leg and pulls you along the floor. I just cant seem to kill or make the fraker let me go.
No mouse lag, no issues with what others have been having. Its running like piss down a recently polished urine wall.

The fact that disabling vsync (and/or dropping Max Pre-rendered frames to 1) fixes most of the lag invalidates your theory that the developers implemented a "lag" function in the game that isn't in the 360 version. It's been a while, but there have been plenty of games with the lag-bug requiring patches or disabling vsync and other tweaks.

game runs really smooth and looks great ,
great atmosphere and everything , scared me at the beginning
Spoiler: | dead monster suddenly comes back to live and attack me luckily I cut it down in a split second |
all you need is a bit of mouse tweaking , increase sensitivity and you're good to go
it's just a shame that EA always has to ruin good titles with shitty DRM 2 installs , because for 60$ only an ass would buy it
