It's called Over the Shoulder and it works so much better in 3rd person games.

Wtf? Aaaah! You are guys so weird! Very Happy

Well, sorry for my ignorance but I thought that you're talking about a real movie not an animated movie! Very Happy Anyways, I don't like when a game, especially a surviving horror game, which I most like, is compared with some lame animated movies. Sorry guys, no offence! Very Happy

EDIT: or maybe... I'm too old. Dunno. Sad

Hi,

i'm 28 Years and i love to watch Animes...and trust me, i have seen many bloody, brutal Animes. In a real Movie, you don't see things like that! Wink

And the Dead Space Anime is real good for me. Very Happy

Mister_s: Is the anime actually good/worth the watch?

oh YEAH it is! First the Movie, then you continue in the Game. Must see!

Ahem.

It's a cartoon not a anime. (Could also call it a animation or animated movie.)
(Altough I wouldn't say the differences are that major between them. )

is it filled with action, or more a doom3-like corridor walking (creatures pumping out from the corners, etc)?

A bit between both, some sections are a bit emptier with no enemies at all or a few enemies appearing from stuff like vents and other dark places while at other times you'll enter a small area and have to kill several of the "aliens" (Or whatever they are.) only to have a second wave appear after you killed the first one.

Doesn't change the fact that it's a mess trying to use mouse+kbd, this game was built and designed to be played with a gamepad. Such a shame.

Ok call me stupid, but I can't even get past the "prologue".

At the very beginning, when you escape from a monster with the elevator and you pick up you r first weapon, what are you supposed to do?

When I pick the weapon up the mouse speed slows to a craw l and I can do nothing except change the fire mode from "vertical" to "horizontal" with the central mouse button... I can't fire or put the waepon away or interact with the enviroment.... I tried every button, and still nothing.

Right mouse button should activate "aiming mode" if I understand the controls list correctly, but it doesn't do shit for me.... what am I supposed to do?

Yep, and there's a reason for it too. It's to make you feel claustrophobic when you're playing. Keep you close, makes you feel enclosed, and it helps add to the scare factor. I must commend the devs on that nice subtle detail, though people are complaining about it.

Personally, the game has impressed me enough that I would have bought it, had it not had the stupid DRM on it. Yes, I could buy it and only play the cracked version, the problem is, I end up supporting that kind of DRM by doing this. They see sales, they do it again. Then again, knowing EA, they're likely to do it again regardless.

The reason I personally complain about it is because I don't have a 360 gamepad and I never use gamepads, and that perspective combined with the awkward mouse controls just doesn't work at all. I bet it's perfect if you use the analogue stick on the 360 pad to spin your character. That's how the game was designed, to be played with a modern gamepad, not mouse+wasd.

I play perfectly with keyboard+mouse, just max the mouse sensitivity and you´re good to go. Some reviewers don´t know shit.

I could see kb/m being a pain in the ass. It's bad enough with my 360 controller. I'm just not used to it but I'm getting the hang of it. I'm barely to chapter 2 and WOW!

I simply cannot believe the shit called Far Cry 2 gets 100 pages and this is at 20. This game blows it away. I've had more fun in an hour of this one than I did in 20+ of Far Cry 2.

I actually scouted around for a 360 gamepad just 20 minutes ago since I felt the game might be worth it. We'll see. Fallout 3 is just around the corner. Wink

From what I've seen it's slow (slower than Doom 3), but it can get much more intense.

It's not Doom 3. It's basically Resident Evil in space. That's about the best summation of it. I guess you could take the gameplay of RE and the setting of Doom 3 and make a hybrid bastard child of awesome and this would be it.

It's really intense, of course half of that is the slow nature of the control scheme. If it was an FPS it would just be a Doom 3 ripoff and way too easy.
