I just don't get what you fucking PC gamers expect. So many of you seem to expect the impossible, pure perfection tailored to your specific and exacting tastes, from every single game. One little thing doesn't agree with you, and the whole game is suddenly garbage. Ugh. "Oh, the mouse doesn't feel right," or "oh, these [clearly fantastic] graphics are shit because I don't like the way this one rock texture looks" or "oh, man, I really hate the way enemies shoot at you all the time" or "god, I hate how this plays like a videogame" or "oh, it's too long" or "oh, it's too short" or "oh, it's too linear" or "oh, it's too non-linear." And when you find some little bug or glitch or AI routine that you don't like, you start off on about how the developers were lazy or cheap something, even when we're talking about games that took dozens of people 3 or 4 years, and millions of dollars to develop. God damn.
And if everything else is perfect, then you bitch that it should have zero copy protection, and be sold for $19.99, and also be from a different publisher (probably one of those indie outfits that makes hardcore historical strategy games or something, cause as we all know, the hardcore PC kids looooove those, cause they're hardcore like that), because you don't like the big billion-dollar publisher that put it out, or they messed up a sequel to some game you played when you were 12 or something.
Most of the things one could criticize in this game are the same in practically any other open world game, such as GTA or STALKER.
-=Cartoon=- wrote: | i just wish this game was alot more... stalkerish...
Seems so dumbed down... |
It never set out to be like STALKER. Stalker is practically an RPG, whereas this is just a straight FPS.
FC2 is what I've been wanting ever since I played STALKER: an open world FPS, that doesn't weigh itself down with trying to be an RPG as well (like STALKER), and doesn't limit me with linearity (like Crysis). |
Exactly my opinion.
Plus, I didn't find "Es Tee Eay El Khey Ee Arr" particularly any good at any department. Clear Sky did nothing much to improve it either. If anything, STALKER was sluggish, silly and boring.

maybe u fucked up ur controllerconfig. map is always "5" for me, doensnt matter if i'm in a car or not | Sure I changed it to 'e' but it should be 'e' when I'm on foot as well, I didn't change it so it would be 'e' only when I drive a Volkswagen.

The stalker AI was very good , stalker had problems with hitboxes on characters but per total the game was good and don't compare t with fc2 , fc2 rullz altough it need more intense actions and more enemies

Uninstalled it. It's just boring, a game made for people with attention deficits. Stalker: ShoC and Stalker: CS runs circles around this pos game. What a waste of a perfectly good engine: dumbed down game suffering from consoleitis and bad design choices. I even bought into some of the hype before actually playing it myself (something I usually refrain from doing) and it bit me in the arse. May Far Cry 2 burn in the African desert...

My .50 cent:
-
The enemy AI is so bad that I can't feel immersed in the game at all.
The gfx are miles behind crysis, sure it's just gfx but still.
I hate respawing enemies period.
No stealthy approach, tied in to the bad AI.
Enemy animations suck, gun fights look retarded.
+
Good performance even on ultra high settings.

Thanks god I downloaded this, because I wont finish it.

stalker SOC, to take another fps as an example. the bugs didn't matter so much, since the atmosphere was perfect. it was one of the most immersive shooters out there. it had it's heart in the right place, so to speak.
fc2 makes it seem like they had a checklist with features for a sandboxy shooter and they just put those features in the game, without giving much thought to how they all come together. it doesn't have much soul.
sorry if it's not the most technical explanation.
fc2 ain't that bad. but it's not that good either, which is a shame, 'cause it could've been excellent.

Stalker: CS shits on this game and spits in it's face, you can't compare the atmosphere of stalker to this, of course it's more complicated too it's a pc only game which is always a big plus.

hm, we all usually complain that not too many games are getting pc releases anymore and that consoles seem to have priority. and even if something comes out on pc, it's usually with a huge delay.
but i'm starting to think that it's not that much of a loss. how many console ports were badly done? the gameplay usually feels somehow "off". the controls are not tight, the graphics are kinda subpar, etc.
i'll try to keep this shit in mind when the next blockbuster won't come out on pc, so i won't feel inclined to whine about it. think about force unleashed. everyone was pissed about lucas' bullshit explanation, etc. now it's out. read some reviews. is anyone still hyped about it, or pissed off that it didn't get a pc release?
this shit happens often enough for this whole "not coming to the pc" thing to lose a lot of weight.
i ain't saying that console games are bad. i'm saying that they feel different and that pc gamers aren't used to that and most of the time they end up not appreciating them as much as their console-oriented brethren.

TOO MUCH BIG TALK NOT ENOUG WORK TALK UBI NOOBZ |
The G3 is semi/safe/full. Call of Duty 4 is not that realistic bud; It would be great if people stopped using it as some sort of barometer for war games. |
there are 2 different selectors. 3 and 4. 3 = safe , single , full and 4 = safe , single , full, burst.
btw is there no key to change that in game ?

UT3 is a 99% MP game (SP "campaign" is just a serious of Bot Arena Matches). Anyway, a game like UT3 is made to be played online, ergo people have to buy it to play it properly, ergo CP is a waste of time and money.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that you have to litterly bury your enemies with bullets before they go down? I can even get headshots to work point blank! Really really annyoing.

Hopefully those complaining have learned not to swallow a cock in anticipation for a release. The game is "OK" with some solid production values but Im having trouble staying interested. My play sessions last about 20 minutes, enough to complete one task and then the thought of starting the next one makes me exit and continue later.
I don't see why this is being compared to Stalker. The only simliarity either game has is the illusion of open world gameplay.
EDIT: Back to Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Funny how all these modern games with vast amounts of technology and time invested in them still don't hold up to the straightforward gameplay mechanics of old school games.
