Apparently the GFX problems are on BenQs only.

How come GFX problems would affect specific DVD drive models only. What you're saying sound insane.

No, the textures load from the drive on the fly. With a slower drive as the BenQ seems to be coupled with the fact written disks are harder to read than printed disks and thus slower, means that texture and loading times can be problematic for a specific drive.
Don't worry though, with the ability of writing the full disk to the hard drive with the new dashboard coming soon, that will be sorted.

Well you have two choices. Either swapping it out for a Hitachi which I think are slightly superior to the Samung's or waiting for the new dashboard.
Now the new dashboard could be used to read from the drive more specifically and be used to ban on Live. I'll wait a couple of months myself before transfering any disks to the hard drive until I get feedback on how it's being used.

I also have a BenQ drive, and had the texture popups during the first 30 minutes or so. It gradually went down, and the last 45 mins i played, i had no popups at all.

That's why I'll be waiting for other peoples experience before I store games on the drive. I don't trust MS at all.
Like I said, get a Hitachi drive.

That's because some of the data is being stored on the cache. The more you play it, the more data will be stored.
As for the disk checking, I'm hoping it just checks to see if the disk is in the drive. Someone may come up wit a way to transfer the games directly from a downloaded image onto the hard drive and use a sort of mini image written to a cdr or single layer to put in the drive.
The price of Verbs is a piss take.

Broken xbox's are cheap enough . Just get one thats not reading disks and swap the laser over from you banned console.
Instant unban.
