Sorry for offtopic, but I can't help myself. All the issues with ATI cards, it's rather ironic. Hotfixes, different beta drivers for each game, even hardware problems. I can't believe you guys didn't think that there might be a catch as to why these ati cards are so cheap.

dont know if is a probelm with ati, but i do not see the rain falling, i hear the rain but do not see it.

if u have ati radeon, can confirm that?

So they don't have the best driver team around. That doesn't have anything to do with the price.

Although the original Far Cry was available only on the PC for the first year and a half of its existence, Far Cry 2 will see an expanded audience with the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions all available out of the gate. However, its roots are clearly on display when taking in the differences between the three platforms. Far Cry 2 looks best running on a PC, with clearer textures, better foliage, and less pop-in. The console versions also suffer from the occasional loading hitch when you're driving into a highly populated city. Another key difference is that the PC version lets you save anywhere you want, whereas the 360 and PS3 games only let you use predefined save points. However, the latter difference isn't quite as lopsided as the graphical disparity; saving anywhere gives you more room for experimentation in approaching your missions, but the console versions provide a more clearly defined sense of consequence that adds extra tension to the combat. You'll definitely want to go with the PC version if you've got a system capable of approaching the hardware requirements, but the differences aren't so great that you won't have a blast with either console version (which are virtually indistinguishable from one another).

This appears to be a much more balanced review. Take a read.

Not sure if this is known, but some EB stores in Australia have been selling the game today. Apparently it plays fine. Mate of mine has picked one up and testing it out tonight.

Knowing this, you'd think the scene would be rife with close ISOs by now Wink

Also, I heard the ZEROSEC release was just the bonus disc, and that the full game is on another DVD. Anyone know for sure? Again, hopefully I'll find out for sure later tonight Smile

EDIT: Looks like it's legit, and the game can be played now (and online) in Australia.

"the scene" doesn't releases "custom" isos and clones that won't work. That's reserved for places like usenet, BT and P2P's.

Where do you live, Video Game City, California? I wish I could have video game retailers at every corner. San Francisco requires a 2 mile walk for me to get to the nearest retailer... and that's in the ghetto.

i think you miss-read what i said. I was merely pointing out the fact, that unlike on BT, P2P,Usenet etc, you'll have "clones" and "iso's" en mass, but most not working (for various reasons). You can't do that in "the scene". It's not a issue of "superiority" or anything, its simply that you'll get nuked, period.

Also bioshock is quite the exception imho ... and don't worry, new securom will be cracked sometime soon (seeing as it has become quite popular these days). Just as it was with SF (uncrackable at first, now its 0day) or TAGES (uncrackable, rofl) which are 0day now too. It's just a matter of groups creating the proper tools and voila.

it did, but it was a quite unpopular protection. And usually the US releases of the games had Securom or Safedisk instead of SF.

Our last US pub that decided to use star force was ubisoft and it was on Chaos Theory, the famous boycott of ubi begins, the last game UBI really focused on for PC.

Starforce was used by later projects from Ubisoft as well (like Rainbow Six Lockdown in 2005 and Heroes V in 2006), and this is just on the top of my head. But the boycott worked indeed, and companies got the message. I put "worked" in italic because around the time this fiasco ended, Ubi started to really make bad PC ports and don't give a damn (which ended with AC IMO). A coincidence? Who knows...

I'm partial to thinking Vegas (in general as a rainbow six game) and giving ghost recon to some new dev was the worst decision.

And damn, I keep forgetting lockdown was newer. None the less I'm glad it happened, it showed UBI's true colors.

Did it? I prefer the Ubi of old days, even with Starforce. There's are a reason you don't remember those games as controversial - the protection was cracked very fast, and there was no backlash from the pirates. So, in my opinion, it would have been better to let Ubi do whatever they want and give us great products, instead of the bugfest that was SCDA for instance.

when AITD came out, that was the situation and many payed and got original copy and some of them disapointed of the product.

i said it will be around sooner or later and not too late and after month + it came's out:)

i like to try the product befor i buy it, thats why this service of the "pirate's" is so good..companied don't get it..the piracy do good with them.

demo is not enough to get the full picture of game. like the new james bond demo..looks like crap, but maybe othere mission's are better?

anothere example, there was a game..like gta with cow and bulls..i forgot the name..there is also movie about this, anyway..there was mini game in inside that game that i realy loved..with wood above water that eatch player kicked into the othere player to make him loose balance. and this mini game's sometimes can makes someone to buy game..so..i guess my point is clear:)
