So I have checked PG2 logs, and by the looks of it Crytek have all the cards to be promoted to a rank of Power User at the private tracker
The logs shows there was minor Crytek's activity at October 14 and October 15 definitely have been a torrent day at the company, that day I had a lot of active ebooks torrents, one movie and one game.

Of course companies like piracy when it comes to a good game....cause they know (when it comes to PC games) that if they make a good game, ppl are gunna want to play online and get the updates and downloadable content etc and usually, you have to buy the game to get that shit.
I bet, in some way, piracy actually helps the gaming/movie/music industry. Ive heard musicians say that. Like their music gets around to tons of ppl and but if you buy their cd you get tons of extras or a free poster or something cool ya know?
Thats why I like buying games. You always get a poster or a cool art book or like a mini comic with background info on the story of the game.
The best thing Ive gotten to date was recently from Dead Space. This thick ass book full of 3d art (comes with the blue and red goggles) and shit. Awesome little book.
And the stuff that came with MGS4 was wicked aswell, same as GTA IV
Definetly spread this around

I like buying the games mainly cause I get the manual, which is great to have while taking a shit.

haha, you do that to man? I always do that when I get a new game. Before I play it I hit the can for 10 mins or so and read the manual.
and yeah, they dont make pc stuff the way they used to. Tons of inserts and stuff in the box and detailed manuals full of tips and tricks and stuff. Now its a 10 page (if that) booklet and an offer to get 10 percent of some gaming mag
You know what also chaps my ass off? When you look at the backs of PC games today (like the boxes) they rarely have ingame shots. Its all movie shots or shit to make the game look fuckin really cool but its not a realistic portrayal (sp?) of how the graphics are.

lol ya I do it all the time. Dunno what the fascination is. I really don't mind too small of manuals, but when it comes to more complex games like the witcher and sacred 2, having a bigger maanual is really nice. Sacred 2's is about 50 pages and the witcher is 76. They both do a good job at explaining the features etc.
Haven't really noticed movie shots on the back, I've got the witcher EE, GRID, Sacred 2 and bioshock sitting here and their all ingame screenshots.

oh, maybe its only some games.
cause usually i find they never show in game screenshots on the boxes. just the slick, awesomely rendered pics that make the game look awesome ya know?
Ive been playing sacred 2 and you know, its not as fun as i thought it would be. Im playing as a Shadow Warrior and the good campaign.
I remember Sacred 1 being far more fun.
Still, Im not to far into the game so maybe it will get alot better.
Cause Im splitting my time between Dead Space and Mass Effect (reformatted yesterday and lots all my saved characters, I only had one class left to reach level 60+ with so I got to do it all over again...dont mind tho, ME is now one of my all time fav games. I wish they would use the same format but for a Stargate Game. That would be the ultimate space 3rd person shooter game).

I've tried so hard to get into Mass Effect just cause I love bioware but god, it's just so boring, and I think it's the character classes you can play as that just seem, retarded. got a whole what....5? Seems like they really ignored that section of the game, you make an RPG you give the player a choice in what he wants to play as.
Sacred 2 is a type of game you go online with. SP is really only for following stories but take it to MP and play with friends well then you got something fun. If you buy hit me up on MSN, we'll get a game going.
I personally hope no stargate game comes out, I'd hate to see such a name get shit all over. It's bad enough eidos thought up to make a highlander game.
UBIsoft is so notorious for PS'ing up their screens to make it look amazing. God I remember the double agent fiasco.
Top is what it was and bottom is what UBI made it look like lol. Fucking assholes.

Been thinking about buying Sacred 2. Im not sure yet tho. Gunna play through single player if it gets more interesting and if i like it, then gunna buy it for MP.
As for Mass Effect, naw man, I dont find it boring at all. I think its fuckin awesome. I guess everyone likes there own thing. But I like how there are so many quests, the classes arent to bad, and the going about the different star systems is cool.
Any Stargate game will be good. It has to be. The devs know its gunna be held to a high standard so it has to be top notch. And I dont mean graphically, i mean in terms of gameplay, huge environments/planets, tons of races, quests, being able to battle Goa'uld's from the show and possibly the Ori.
Im for sure getting Stargate Worlds when that comes out. I think its gunna be a kick ass mmorpg.
But I would like to see a single player game and i think the best model (obviously they'd have to make it better) to use would be mass effect because of the star system travel thing. but instead of a ship and "relays" you use the stargates. It could work if they got the right ppl to do it, kept it close to the actual show, allowed you to plays as Colonel O'Neill and switch between Teal'c, Jackson and Carter.
But if it was produced by say Ubisoft, ppl who massacre good games, then yeah, it would suck. But I think the ppl who own Stargate (like the rights and all that shit) wouldnt do it. I believe Stargate Worlds is being developed by a company called Cheyanne Mountain Inc or something like that. A company solely focusing on stargate with all the rights to everything included so they dont have to stray from the show and shit.

Well, hopefully you like it, I've never played these hack n slashes for the story, most of the time their kind of....redundant. It's mostly an action kill everything with swords kind of game for me.
Mass Effect is by no means a bad game, for some odd reason I just can't get into it, which is odd as shit since I'm a huge RPG person and played just about everyone out since BGII

Whatever floats your boat right? Still, I think its one of the best games to come out in recent memory.
And I ike rpg's for the story...not so much the hack n slash and trying to find the uber items/armour/weapons etc. I mean, thats a fun part of it, but you gotta have a good story with it or its boring to me. Still, Im trying to get into it. My niece should be here anytime now so when she goes to bed tonite, Im gunna see if I can get into it. Give it a good play.

mm if you like a strong story then sacred might not be for you. It's more along the lines of what DII did online with the trading and building characters. If you haven't played it already, I highly recommend the witcher if you want a great fucking story. The combat is by far the most acquired taste I've ever seen in a game, I absolutely hated it at first, almost stopped playing it my first time around cause of it. When I got the EE I tried the game in isometric and it made everything just that much better. The combat styles start to be a lot more..."makes sense" later on especially if you have fast fingers.
As for mass effect, I'll probably buy it one day just for the sole reason it's bioware. I think I have a hard time getting into it cause I have so much more to play ATM like the witcher and sacred 2.
and lol, we totally hijacked this thread lmao

WOW ! I was really busy for the last few days and the thread got completely derailed Well, actually I like it to some extent, means stuff happens pretty fast here
Nevertheless, I played with the logs, there were 3728 connections attempts to and from Crytek IP 212.6.249.99. Regarding making logs public, I think what it is a bad idea. Should there be any investigation it will be corporation with possible tarnished reputation vs lonely Pirate. And with the their money they will be able to turn the case any way they see fit. For example, they could state it was just a bot monitoring illegal activity and gathering IPs of involving parties.
So, in order to protect myself, I would have to remove timestamps, IP, ports from the logs making them useless in the process. Nah, I prefer warm fuzzy felling as in "Damn, mine PG2 caught corporation blaming piracy for bad sale of the boring game" to a few moments of fame and the PIA for months to come
