I like that things are dynamic.

But come on guys, an Ak47 doesnt rust away after an hour.

Somebody here mentioned earlier that this game feels like an RPG. IT TOTALLY DOES! And driving back and forth is insanely boring if youre not playing country music from your Ipod Very Happy

Am I the only one who dropped the game after driving 100th time thru some vital and heavily protected crossroad? I mean Jesus why can't you clear it once and for all in let's say... 5 passes? After that it should become dead empty. Fuck, even if you storm thru at top speed the bastards still manage to get 50% of your health and then the car follows you whatever cunning maneuvres you execute. No, I can't play this shit.

Yes it repetetive, if they only did something with the crossroad/roadblocks it would have been more bearable.

It would be ok if you could rush thru even with some minor damage. But the game is cheating - they catch you anyway and they're obviously using aimbots, lol.

Lol I agree this game kinda sucks. Trying to be stealthy seems almost impossible which pretty much ruined the game for me. I play this is if Im feeling claustrophobic after hours of playing Dead Space Very Happy

I tried this for 5 minutes, it reminded me of mercs 2 - which i didn't like. It's boring - all the terrain is the same, and it felt like it'd been done a million times (minus the ability to set the grass on fire - WOW HOW AMAZING).

Is it worth continuing past the first 2 missions?

I guess it isn't as there's even no dialog options. So it's always go there, clear outpost, stop convoy. No alternatives like in Fallout 3.

And yes - no stealth ruins it. Still I could see the enemies have a field of view - if you come out of a shed behind their back they won't do attack until you make a noise.

im the same this game could have been so good, but the constant driving and trying to avoid the guys at the checkpoints is really starting to do my head in.

Also ive saved when i meet the woman and im away to go after the police chiefs brother but when i die it puts me back at the faction house where i saved a bit earlier, checking it seems that it hasnt saved my position at the safe house at all, even though it said it had saved.

This happen to anyone else?

I was really looking forward to this, loved Far Cry but this is insane with the checkpoints dont know if i can stand it with all the other games to play, glad i didnt buy it cause it would be going back.

I really like the game, but do the controls just feel...sloppy to anyone else? Whenever i push the stick to one side, itll go slowly at first then speed up, and the Y axis feels much less sensitive than the X axis, and you cannot tweak them individually. Am i going senile, or is anyone else getting this too?

The controls are retarded. It has like half-southpaw option. I can aim with the left stick but then I have to shoot my gun with "LT"......wtf? lol so I just play with default controls. Id RATHER play with proper southpaw controls. Its really hard to aim so I lowered the aim sensitivity by a lot. Does "aim assist" help at all? I haven't tried playing with that.

Yup, the crossroad checkpoints suck ass.

Also the game has some rough edges, but still the game can be pretty cool at times. Like when going thru a dark desert with only the beam of lights on, looking at the map, figuring out where to go. Reminds me of when I was out in a desert outside vegas on new years once.

Some pretty funny things happens now and then. When I was about to take out a convoj the truck exploded and I heard another BAM, looked aorund and saw that a zebra had run into my stillstanding car and died.

At other times I get really strong Mercenaries (1) vibes. Driving around with the game music over the hills and far away.

Personally I like the game, but can see the crossroads eventually be a gamebraker.

Respawning enemies suck EVERYWHERE. It ruined CoD4 for me. Still, if they respawn in certain points like roadblocks it can be somehow explained (like, for instance, skinnies are abundant in Africa). But, seeing hundreds of towelheads emerging from a small room till you reached a certain checkpoint was kinda too much.

It's perefectly normal in COD4 - the game forces the player to move instead of sitting hidden and clearing the level with a scoped rifle.

I agree, but I HATE being FORCED to do something by a game. It's supposed to be fun, and my idea of fun is sitting hidden with a scope rifle or at least being able to kill everything. I like the choice Hitman offers - you can do it silently or you can just kill everyone and still proceed to next mission. You know, I like the things I kill to stay dead.

It's understandable in COD4, it's a linear and scripted game. It's supposed to be an experience, so the creators want to direct you as much as possible. Quick respawning in a game like Far Cry on the other hand could ruin it.
