Don't. The whole series doesn't shine that much but the last installment is the worst of them all. It's a pseudo-horror bugfest.

lol it'll never happen. Especially now since the price dropped so much. Maybe shaman will gain some of his sanity back if they made a patch haha.

Alone in the Dark is a good example of why you shouldn't do sequels.

I liked it but never finished.

It's a shame the improved version, "Inferno Edition" or whatever it's called never made it to PC.

So did this game had microstutter all the time already?
Getting solid 60 fps but most of the time it seems like it's dropping below that and causing microstutter Neutral

Not exactly. Some interesting ideas I admit but the execution leaves a looooot to be desired. Maybe if they had made a sequel and refined the formula they could have got it right, but it's too late now that the devs have shut down.

Cancelled Alone in the Dark (original) remake info: http://www.thenarrativ.com/portfolio/?p=1009

Quote:
After Alone in the Dark, I worked on a smaller project for the Xbla/PSN/Steam.

A narrative, adventure, horror game. the remake of Alone in the Dark original.

Unfortunately, this project never came out. For political and economical reason.
It was in the middle of big changes in ATARI, after the unsuccessful release of Alone in the Dark.

its not a failed company , they bankrupted all thanks to Reflections Driver 3 , that used to much money for CGI , Music , map research but not on gameplay design ... Atari for me was the only company that Innovated gaming , when Atari died Microsoft filed its place with hate and backstabing

Agreed, and by the looks of things, their new strategy doesn't sound very promising on paper:

Quote:
To succeed in 2014 and beyond, Atari says it is expanding its business and brands to mobile and other online gaming platforms, and also deepening its commitment to new markets.

This includes extending its "classic gaming brands" to new platforms like iOS, Android, PC, and other digital mediums. In addition, Atari plans to reach out to growing markets and new audiences, including LGBT, social casinos, real-money gambling, and YouTube.

What a cumback Poker Face Laughing (then again, that also explains the Rollercoaster Tycoon iOS aberration)

edit:

Quote:
With the company again controlling its US subsidiaries and the results of the OCEANE Bond issue to be announced on February 21st 2014, Atari is now working on a new catalog for 2015 - 2016.

The company’s strategy relies on downloadable games, MMO games, games for mobile devices and licensing. The main emphasis is on traditional franchises.

Several products scheduled for release in 2014 - 2015 are already in pre-production or production, either by the company itself or jointly with third parties:

Mobile devices: Roller Coaster Tycoon iOS (iPhone, iPad) ; Alone in the Dark (iPhone, iPad); Haunted House; as well as games from Atari’s back catalog of traditional titles.

Online games: Roller Coaster Tycoon, Alone in the Dark, Haunted House and a new PC game.
