you are kind of missing the point, this is an actual passage of an Islamic holy book, not something that represents a part of Islam. Maybe you were trying to be funny and forgot what you were posting about and ended up just looking like a 12 year old.

that being said :

According to the US Playstation Blog, Sony will begin shipping LittleBigPlanet to retail in North America the week of October 27th. The game was delayed after gamers found that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. Media Molecule have revealed that they "prepared an automatic day 0 patch and had a new disk image ready; however a decision was made within Sony that the right thing to do for quality and support of people with no on-line was to replace existing disks."

So there maybe hope for an ontime EU release

i agree Neon25, its a little pathetic to recall a game on those grounds, but to go on a racist rant to all Muslims' about how its their fault the game is delayed is very wrong, as it was ultimately Sony's decision. The previous poster obviously had no grasp of reality and felt like typing complete gibberish.

Also, its all about how the words were used. A priest praying, and quoting the bible is what a priest does... who knows what the offending song was about.

I'm not saying it's the Muslims' fault. I'm saying that they are just a little (alright, not a little, in fact pretty damn much) too sensitive about their religion. It seems that they thinkl world is offending them on purpose. They should relax a little.

mate , it was not a sensitive religious Muslim person who delayed the game, it was Sony covering their asses.

The music, translated - if accurate - is completely out of synch with the kind of ambience that LittleBigPlanet is portraying, so there's actually a positive element to come from all of this in changing that. Also; don't rule out the possibility of Sony being overly cautious as a PR exercise. Assuming this gets picked up and syndicated in the media LittleBigPlanet's impending release date, and the game itself, is going to get further exposure. Sony are falling over backwards to rectify the error, so they can always put this down to an honest mistake and not take a hit.

That said, it's just one guy on a forum - so not exactly newsworthy. Sony really needs the sensitive Muslims (and their highly vocal spokesmen) to get their knickers in a twist for this to have any sort of legs. Burning sackboy effigies anyone?

No it's true, a Sainsbury's worker is trying to sue his employers for unfair dismissal because quote.. "he didn't know they dealt with alcohol" and he refused to move it. What about all the other stuff sainsbury's sell? like pork, bacon, ETC ETC.... like he didn't know a supermarket isn't going to sell that too ?

It's definately 2 faced, they pull out the rule book when it suits. The actaul song in question is a published song by a muslim, but that's ok for some reason ???

What, really, Sue? I'm guessing the asshats reparations won't be monetary either, he's a Muslim after all - he probably wants them gassed or some shit. Only decent hard working Christian folk sue under ludicrous irrational claims and ask for money in return.

I know right! It's almost as if they have a blinkered point of view where they selectively choose to ignore similar cases involving other demographics and instead fixate on that ugly scary thing which threatens them. I'm totally digging what you're saying Wink

For what it's worth I don't agree, but lets give the Muslim-bashing bandwagon a pass this week - I have a feeling, even if some Muslims find it offensive, that the real reasons for editing it out are more in line with the translated texts not fitting within the context of the game.

why recall a entire game cause of some made up bs (islam)

Fuck if they want to get rid of it then sony could have released a "Extremist patch" that removes the song (which has been on itunes for 2 years) so the fuckers dont get their nickers in a twist.

Utterly Ridiculous and cowardly by sony

Heh. Get this:

- The song was written by a muslim
- Sony pulled back the game on their own accord, there were no complaints

Picked up this one at my blockbuster today ( I live in NJ ).

Apparently, all the Blockbusters didn't know the game got delayed a week. Went to 3 blockbusters and all of them were sold out, except for one. Turns out that a lot of places had midnight releases for the game as well...

Anyways, going to enjoy now. Peace

they take away pork, there's going to be problems. I don't see what the big deal is...

"Diabate told MTV Multiplayer that Toumani says that “it is quite normal to play music and be inspired by the words of the Prophet Mohammed (Peace on his Soul) in my country in Mali.""

edit: btw, any impressions? this game looks retarded, but the reviews are glowing...
