I think most people are not one-issue voters. Even though it's hard to say which American candidate represents my personal opinions, certainly if I was an American citizen, I wouldn't put my love of all things clickable before reasonable policies on economy, medicine and education.

It's backfiring indeed. There was a piece in the news here in IL, where they showed how McCain was igniting the ugly republican crap we've all seen, then suddenly, after a huge backfire, he tells some old lady Obama is not a terrorist, but an adversary opponent who only has a different opinion.

I dont care about the downloading thing. I was refering to the slandering of obama by the mccain campaign.
And yeah, I made it to the polls. I voted Liberal. Even tho I hate dion, i think he was the lesser of all the evils you know? And the Liberals are always good for Ontario. The Conservatives are good for alberta, thats its.
What Canada needs is a truly great leader. A Pierre Trudeau type leader ya know?
Harper is an american disquised as a Canadian imo. He wants to turn canada into another US. Fuck him.
Hopefully, the opposition will fight him on everything and force him to hold another election in a year or 2 and hopefully he'll lose. And hopefully Dion will be replaced with someone who speaks both english and french fluently. Cause thats what did Dion in. His horrible grasp of english. His rehearsed speaches were fine, but i saw numerous press conferences where someone would ask a question in english and that guy that was always beside him would whisper in his ear and a few times, the mic picked it up and he was translating into french.
Its cool if you have an accent, thats fine. But like i said, he has a horrible grasp of the english language. Cretchin (sp?) had an accent but he understood english completely even tho he spoke with a french accent.

I know english speaking leaders dont speak the best french but they still have a better grasp of it than dion does of english. You gotta admit that. Dion's english is fuckin horrible. And I dont mean his accent or anything, i mean his understanding of words and such. I assume you saw the interview he did in halifax a last week where the interviewer had to ask the same question like 5 or 6 times before dion answered it and its was a simple fuckin question..."If you were PM right now, today, how would you deal with the economic crisis". The guy had to ask him 6 times before he understood. Thats horrible. Once or twice fine, but 5 or 6 times? thats inexcusable.
And yeah, Perm is a good guy and fuck, if I lived in Alberta id vote Conservative too. They do alot of that province so why not? Same reason alot of french vote for the bloc and ppl from ontario vote liberal. We vote for the party that does the best for whatever province we live in ya know?
Still, Im kinda glad the Conservatives won in a way. Cause the liberal mp in my riding is an indian. I have nothing against indians but i read his plan in the local paper and he wants tons of money to get immigrants job training, teaching them english, getting them jobs, houses etc etc
Like fuck, that money should go to Canadians (whether your a canadian citizen or born canadian) first. Once Canadians have jobs and are secure, then focus on the immigrants. We are in the middle of a economic crisis...canadians come first, end of story. Just like if we were in the US, Americans come first before anyone else.
Thats why im thinking of moving again. You know where i live and its fuckin pure racist here. Especially at the hospital. Thats why when I have to go to hospital, I go to Trinity in Mississauga. Our hospital is pure racist. I was there once and there was this white guy sitting there, hand gushing blood, wrapped in a towel and duct tape waiting. Then a few indians come in with simple colds (i could hear the triage nurse from where i was sitting) and they got in right away. It seemed anyone who was indian got in within half an hour of coming in where if you were white or black you had to wait hours. Even the nurses were bitching (cause the nurses were white or black but all the docs are indian or pakistani) saying its unfair.
No one i know will go to that hospital anymore (besides the indians i know).
If im still living here when the old hospital reopens in 2010, hopefully things will change.

If you are going to let immigrants into your country you need to make sure they have the necessary supports to succeed. These are people we didn't pay to educate (kindergarten to the end of high school is VERY expensive), and a lot of them we've poached from other countries where they could be contributing to that economy. The idea is to get these people to be productive and start contributing to the tax base, which makes perfect economic sense.
What gets me is when people say things like 'learn english before you come' or 'you'd think they'd learn to speak the damn language'. I'd like to see these people learn a new language in a couple of years, while working long hours at underpaid jobs.

Why would anyone let immigrants into their country? Everyone knows that immigrants are actually Al-Quaeda in disguise who actually spend their long hours at work making bombs and homemade weapons with which to overthrow the government and replace it with a Communist Nazi Jewish Theocracy headed by Obama/Ahmedinajad. I have no problem supporting immigrants. Of course support them. Our country is based on immigration. But Canadians should come first. Just like say you live in India. Indians should come first then those who immigrate.
Especially since were in an economic crisis, i'd rather see that money (my tax dollars) going to create jobs for canadians who are outta work (especially ppl in my field, the manufactoring sector)....not going to someone who just got of the boat so to speak.
If we werent in a economic crisis and the economy was stable, then sure, spend millions on immigrant training and such. But fuck, Canadians are losing their jobs and my mp wants money so immigrants can get jobs over Canadians? Dude, its not racist in anyway to say Canadians come first and should always come first. I dont care if your a canadian citizen or a born Canadian, Canadians should always be top priority.
Once Canadians are taken care of, then you spend money on the immigrants.
And doesnt it bother you that you dont even need to speak english to drive in this part of the country? You can take your driving test (atleast in my city) in Punjab, Indian etc
Dude, if you cant read english (or even french), you should not be driving, plain and simple.
A perfect example of this happened recently in my city. A pakistani woman killed a family of 4 because she couldnt read the sign "no right turns" (or whatever it said, cant remember exactly cause it was like 3 months ago).
And recently, my dad lost his job (like 5 months ago). So he went looking for another one. He went to a shop in my city. They said sure we will hire you, give you what your asking for etc. Then the plant manager took him on a tour of the shop...all pakistani's and they started yelling 'no black man, no black man, no black man. pakistani only'.
The plant manager (who was a pakistani) laughed and asked my dad "Still want to work here?"
Now imagine if that happened but it was a buncha white or black guys saying no pakistani's or no indians...jesus christ the shop would be shut down, ppl charged etc.
Its ok for them to be racist and run indian/pakistani only stores/shops etc but anyone else is forced to hire them. Its ridiculous. Its not like that in Toronto (as much as my city), but where I live it is. And in the paper there are always articles about this where ppl will write in with similar stories like the one i just wrote about my dad.
I think everyone should be given a fair chance, regardless of nationality or whatever. Im not racist in anyway. But back to my original point, Canadians should always come first and especially during this economic crisis. Once Canadians are taken care of, then focus on the immigrants (and right now I have family that have immigrated here from france and them included, im not just talking about indians, all immigrants).
