1.4 just wont boot non stealth backups, the old firmware should boot any properly ripped backup.

This is weird, I extracted it everything was fine. I checked it using XBC, everything was fine. I was about to burn it and I decided to check again. End of Read File XBC reported. Checks the ISO, zero bytes. So I'm having to undelete the rars and rebuild them replacing the missing ones.
Such a pain in the backside.

1.4 is setup to not boot non-stealth back ups unless you select the version of it that doesn't check.

i heard a shop in holland is already selling it like a shop in ameika,so i think we have a pal this evening
found this release on newsgroup,Fable2 region free - NeMeHoB,its the same as the wii60 release i think

According the screen it should work on 1.4 - I am guessing it just isn't stealthed properly or something.

I can also confirm. Burned on 2.4 Verbatim @ 2.4x
360 running iextreme 1.4
Everything loads and works flawlessly.
