No, it's the new version Dragon's Lair 3. Previous version was 3D. BTW, it's really nice action adventure

What's the difference between 3D and 3? I completed 3D and had a good time but according to the screenshots this is the same game - I remember some of the levels that are featured in the screenshots. Or am I wrong?

"Three new Bonus Scenes, playable after defeating the Evil Wizard."
think that's the only difference.

This is not the 3D game where you can control Dirk as a free moving character, it's like the Arcade LaserDisc game...
Cut from the instructions:
Playing the Game
You can control Dirk by using the cursor keys and space bar as UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT and SWORD.
On the keyboard, use either the regular cursor keys or the cursor keys on the numeric keypad if the "NumLock" is off. Use the Space Bar for Sword.
When playing the game, remember that you control the actions to the events that unfold throughout the game.
You don't directly control the character's movement but rather you must make the correct moves at the appropriate time to survive the scene.
This means, for example, that just pressing "Left" doesn't necessarily mean the character will move left.
When the game begins, you will have to wait for the right time to make the first move.
Yellows flashes will tell you that a move is about to occur and give you a hint on what key to press.
etc. etc.

There is also a demo on their site, but can't get it to work. Looks like it is somwhat like the original laser disc version. Their are .mpg files in the demo.

Yes, the games is based on MPG files, just as the Arcade, you can only "chose" which one of the movie "clips" that will follow next...
You don't even have to install the game, it's playable direct from the CD's..

Heh I remember playing one of these for my SegaCD or something.
Damn I thought it was cool at the time, looking back though, how stupid is it to just press random buttons at the right times.
Well, it's a stupid idea to me.
