No Phone home DRM or anything like that; it was discussed during some preview/interview, and they basically said it's not really "their thing" and that they'll employ a similar copy protection that was in Oblivion (a dvd check, basically). No link to give but if you feel like it, go search the bethsoft forums; can still be found most likely.

It's going to have the latest Securom protection. No use discussing it further because thats what it's going to be. It's however impossible to say what protection measures will be employed, only that it's likely to be a dvdcheck only.

I've been playing it, It does feel like Fallout, but with lots of Oblivion's gameplay (which isn't so bad after all)

anyone else going crazy like me from reading about all those people playing fallout 3?
i've been waiting for this since finishing fallout 2...
at times we werent even sure there will be a fallout 3, the first two were so good that it seemed unreal they will release a third one.
and this was in development for ages.
I know that it's different, but i'm sure that anyone who still get the shivers from the inkspots music, and a nostalgic chill down the spine from Louis armstrongs "a kiss to build a dream on", will enjoy fallout 3.
personally I bought both fallouts and have them here. i'm planning on buying three as well, but who knows how much time it will take...

I liked fallout 1&2 and i definately like this one too, though i am still in vault 101 (beginning). Gameplay is ok on x360 but i hope pc version arrives soon because i really want to play this with mouse and keyboard. Goog game.

fallout 1 and 2 are lightyears away from this oblivion with guns. dont feel nostalgia when you play this crapout 3, its another shitty game that profit from a classic IP.
beside when you start drinking from bath sinks and run around with a portable nuke launcher, you'll probably die of brain cancer.

I am still "trying" to play Fallout 1 and 2 one of this days, the "turn based" thing is not my favorite type of game.
The "merging" of Fallout and Oblivion/Morrowind look plenty good in my opinion. Better than an isometric turn based game in 2008, I think.
I used to be a knee like you. Then I took an adventurer in the arrow.

Yeah, tell that to the Blizzard team that is making Diablo 3 with isometric view, a game that will probabily sell more than Fallout 3, and that might be on consoles also.

Like i said, i wasn't saying isometric was outdated... but you can't compare Diablo to Fallout they are two completely different game types!

Diablo will sell, even if Blizzard puts crap in a box. Comparing any game to Diablo is just unfair.
