I have both CPU's available which one should I use.
I have 4 GB of 800 Mhz Memory
Does it matter which CPU to use?
The reason why I ask is. I have 3 500GB SATA hard drives that I want to use in RAID 5
I can't do RAID5 with my MSI Platinum Power Up Ed. Mobo
But I have a 965WH Intel board at work that will do RAID 5
The board at work has a Q6600
The one at home has a QX6700
No my OS will be on a non RAID drive the RAID 5 is for data and video storage
The QX6700 is in my system at home but in the MSI board that cat do RAID 5.
the Q6600 is in my system at work in the board that can do RAID5.
I can get away with swaping the boards.
I want to know if its worth swapping the CPU's also.
The performance difference between them is minimal if that's what you want to know. The only advantage the QX6700 has is overclocking potential. Real world performance stock vs. stock between the two will be near unoticable.
EDIT: If you are swapping boards as in taking the mobo out of each case why not use the faster CPU for whichever system is more important. If you've already got the motherboards out, swapping CPU"s is painless.
