Need an alt to Nero as its a pain in the ass and the so called "keygens" never work no matter how many I enter (using Nero 8 with Embrace's keygen).

There are a million alternatives to Nero. I like imgburn, although it's a pain when you need to author a dvd with a lot of files/folders. Or get another release of nero, since yours is borked or you just failed miserably.

Of course the "so called keygens" work, lolz

Yeah, but you can never be sure thats why I asked, best to get opinions first, maybe I'm just being lazy, something that can actually burn with subtitles (.srt) would be great, thanks in advance.

just use AVI ReComp to hardcode the subtitles to another avi file then burn the avi in a dvd format

http://www.videopedia.pl/avirecomp/news.php

Update: you could use DVDflick to burn the avi to dvd format

Sig too big.

nero burning rom is still the only software i know that does simple tasks properly with an intuitive interface
i directly see the space taken and available at the bottom and directory sizes and everything
and i get to set audio track lenghts and stuff
i'd really LOVE to have alternative software that wasn't as fragile and bloated as nero
imgburn might be fine for images and simple stuff, but i rarely need that
i went through a bunch of free alternatives and none of the ones i tried reached anywhere near nero's interface
any suggestions?

Ashampoo Burning Studio 8
Small, simple and does what it is supposed to do.

tried ashampoo once and my standalone dvd player wouldn't been able to recognize disks i burned with it, in fact only dvd-rom that was recognizing those disks was the one i burned it with, that player never had such problems with any disks i burned with nero or imgburn

if one wants to stick with nero u can always try some nero lite versions without bloated stuff in it

note: u still will require valid key to register

Nero 6 is what I use.
Too much crap bolted on to the newer ones.

Well, on the latest Nero its cool how I can use the samples I get with movies I download and music files (if only it played the whole mp3 or an amount that made it recognizable not the first 5 seconds, Nero fails), makes it almost feel like the real thing....except a budget one, I'll give 6 a try, Ashampoo sounds a bit dodgy but will give it a try if 6 fails aswell, is Ashampoo freeware? Thanks all for your input, thats why I like NFOHump, great people.
