Bought the PS3 version this morning...
Won't buy Pro Evo even though I liked the demo...Think it will need to prove itself with stable online for at least a couple of months before I'll consider a trade in tbh...

I played FIFA since I was a kid... the best one was FIFA 99. I moved to PES in 2008 simply cos FIFA went metal with wank cameras and wank play..
I D'Lded FIFA 09 and tried it cos its first and its SHIT... slow play pants passing... shit shooting... random tackling wank..
PES demo I got today on the PS3 and it is lacking but eats the arsehole out of FIFA and I love FIFA. FIFA has simply gone too far trying to get the mechanics of PES and runined it... I mean when was the last time you saw ronaldo stop dead in his tracks trap the ball... piss around for 20 mins then deicede to do a stepover only to be nailed over and over and over again by the defender.. NO HE DOES IT ON THE RUN... thats the whole point..
If you know how to play football get PES if you like a more arcade feel get FIFA simple as that. Substituting speed for skill is not an option EA SORT YOUR BONCE OUT CLOWNS. Why dont htese dicks ask people who play games how it shud be?????

Aside from the OKAY FIFA 08, and the fractionally better UEFA 08, the FIFA series has been in the dumps since 2002.

Really like it so far..
One thing you notice that seems to have made a difference is including physicality in calculating the outcome of challenges..
It certainly seems to give you a reason to buy forwards like Dean Ashton, takes some of the dominance away from the speed rating..
One thing that would improve the game is allowing you to set the default 'Kick Off' game team to be the last team you selected, it's annoying to cycle through all the leagues etc each game and it's boring to play as the same team each time..
I like how the 'Let's get a goal back - psychological mode' the opposition enters after a goal is scored is much less pronounced now.. Whenever Fifa developers have a good idea, they always seem to make it's implementation so pronounced that it get's rammed down your throat to the detriment of overall balance..
One other criticism, that people probably won't agree with, is having so many variations of control, (assisted, semi-assisted etc) for each different type of action, I think this over-complicates their job and surely must take focus away from refining how the system behaves?
Again, really like the game..

Yup, I thought it was stupid Ea made it after all. I mean they get one game right in decades then they try to ruin it with stuff like this, I suppose I can always connect my tv to the pc and record that way.

I'm pretty sure they announced there would be an update to allow replays to be saved to the hard disk. Should be with us some time in 2010...

What I can't understand is why it seems so damn hard to make replays savable in sportsgames, NHL just got this feature this year with 09 but it's not a real save-feature, you just record a video between set times. Why not just do like in IL-2 Sturmovik and LOMAC where you create a track, in other words it saves whatever has been done and then lets an AI do the exact same thing when you play it back.

It's only difficult if your first name is 'ea' and last name 'sports', in nba 2k8 you could save replays normally in a second but you also had the 'realmaker' with it you could combine and edit replays and make a video or a cool basketball clip.

Got a problem with this game now was working fine all last week, now when I play 2 player as soon as I touch the controller2 buttons the game freezes, I've burnt the game off twice installed on the HDD and it's still doing the same! Fifa 08 is fine any ideas?
