just started playing this game.... and i'm now on level 6 and only paused to get myselve some dinner...
Guess i'm hooked !!
very happy with this game cause i really needed a new nice game !

I've got a level 12 warrior with :
1430 peasants (apply level 2 haste to get +3 speed and bless and they can properly fuckup any incoming troops)
158 Bowmen
143 Guardsmen
32 Cannonneers
27 Alchemists

IGN review, probably interesting for those interested in a few reviews for the game and the score is alright though from what I've played so far I disagree with parts of it.

PLaying this game on Impossible difficulty level is fun. But I think they put level 4 and 5 creatures a bit too early into the game. I'd rate the game 9/10.

Loot, spells, creatures, runes, etc... are generated at the start of the game. So it is possible to get lucky and get Dragons on the first island

I don't understand why this thread only has 5 pages yet ??
If you look on the might and magic posts they have way way more.
And this game is a lot better !
BTW I love to explore the new maps... and have to skip some parts to come back 3 levels later to kick ass. The only problem where i run into is the fact that i'm running low on cash all the time... Maybe i shouldnt destroy just everything ?

What are your biggest money sinks / what difficulty you're on? I'm playing normal, just landed on the second island and I've more gold than I know what to do with.

HOMM5 might have more features and such and this game might be simplistic compared to that, but HOMM5 doesn't even come near the addictiveness. You just want to play more, it's a strange feeling.
What level should I be approximately for Kordar as a Paladin? Any advice?

PS. Get the reserve skill asap. You can store as much troops as you want (two slots only though), if you have the gold of course.

There's no way to lower the sensitivity from turning the camera using right menu button ? It's way too high for me.
I edited the .ini but no change.

On islands there is a Quest to join that Orc tribe, after You finish it You can purchase 'em there.

i tried the camera mod, for 1.6b7, but nothing changed, except that now i get random crashes.

well... money isnt the issue anymore.... at the moment i'm only avoiding battles cause i can't raise a decent army... every army what i come across is overpowering , impossible.
This sucks... i'm missing something here...
well.... better hop back ingame to figure it out

Just unlocked reaper and fuck, the game's hard on normal.
I have to run from pretty much every army I see, being an awesum mage and stuff.

I think if you pick additional attack or defense points instead of leadership when levelling, you are pretty much screwed later on and will have serious difficulty issues. I've always gone for the extra leadership, now have 9000 on level 16 and on normal difficulty the game is challenging and fun.
You still have to know which fights to pick though, having the level 3 scout skill is very important for that.
