Edit: To make it even worse, their girlfriends/wifes/harlots looks like hippies.

Eh, why exactly? Alcoholica has been around the block more than once. You don't see Ozzy Osbourne snorting heroin of a hooker's ass every weekend either anymore. They get older. Besides their new album isn't about fucking things up. That's like comparing the security of a VW Golf circa 1981 to a VW Golf 2008.

Did you listen to the Guitar Hero version yet? It really sounds amazing compared to St. Anger.

Do you realize what you say? You didn't even listen to it but claim it's bad (the Guitar Hero version sounds like a different album, really).

Ehrm say what? Come again...

Your comparisment is the oposite. Obviously the cars get better (security), while old farts like Ozzy gets worse. He should have retired long time ago. Damn sell out, strutting and stumbling around on Mtv(!!!) showing his bratty kids, profit hungry wife and dogs shitting on the floor.

The pic on the other page sums up my feelings towards todays Metallica. What are their songs about on the new record anyway? How fast they can spend money?

On a sidenote the documantary that came a couple of years ago (Some kind of monster?) had me laughing for ages. When Lars goes "FUUUUUUUUCK", every now and then. Priceless. Laughing

Lmao, Lars is a real asshat anyway Razz

Oh, and about Some Kind of Monster and St. Anger..

You DID see how that record was made! Stringin pieces together that came from here and there, from all the band members. And what did that result in? Just that, a half-assed attempt of an album of parts thrown together. God awful.

Oh, and let me add something - I don't care if Death Magnetic is good, i still don't respect Metallica for who they are today. Same with Trivium, i really liked Trivium back in their Ascendancy-days. And then, when they released The Crusade, all i ever felt or liked about them pretty much went away in an instant. Goddamn fucking carbon-copy of Metallica, and a really fucking bad one at that. Their latest album can be an awesome album, i dont give a shit, i wont ever go back to Trivium again..

Eh, sorry for the little offtopic rant there..

I am not trying to defend their personalities. In my opinion the only decent human beings in that band are Kirk Hammett and Bob Trujillo. Lars and James are scarred for life when it comes to primadonnaism.

The comparison with cars wasn't perfect. I was just hinting at the natural evulotion of everything. When you have been together as a band for 27 years you are bound to evolve or in some way you will stagnate, whether thats a good thing or not. Everything after Master of Puppets is mediocre compared to it. But Load, Reload, St. Anger is much much worse than Death Magnetic. The guitar solos of Kirk are some of the best ever and the thrash solos from all over are pretty cool. Lyricswise its a bit cheesy, but thats what you get when you write a "theme" album I suppose.

i actually thought this album was pretty good, not as good as the old stuff but still good.

Ride the lightning is my fav album Very Happy

I saw Metallica at The O2 last might and it was the new album launch gig, they played like 4 new songs and the rest were the old one. Twisted Evil

Before playing Frantic, James said "and now from the much loved St Anger album" and the whole Arena just laughed, and so did James

Razz
