A pretty low average for a series I just adore...Road to Hill 30 was one of the best games I've ever played, one of the most brutal, difficult, incredibly gratifying experiences.

On the 360 it looks very familiar, no more health degradation, just a GoW'ish (and a dozen other games) "oh my god I'm gonna die let me hide behind this wooden table..." 5 seconds later... "damn johnson, you look baby fresh man, can I smell ya?"

Well, there is one difference. You can't stay long behind wooden crates, tables, fences and shit like that, in BIA:HH. All wooden stuff is destructable.

Playing the PS3 version....

If you liked the previous two games buy/download with confidence imo....

Easily worth an 8....

Improvements so far:

When you look down the barrel of the gun it doesn't blur the shit out of the gun, which might seem minor but it used to be really fugly, and considering you use the view so much...

Aiming is much more precise; the game achieves difficulty in numbers, now it's much easier to shoot straight, to the point where you can reliably get headshots..

Graphics, par for the course really, doesn't sell itself on looks but they aren't shit by any stretch of the imagination..

It's definitely linear, but criticising that's missing the point really imo... Like someone on a different forum described it as like a 3D fp interpretation of a turn based strategy game; sound weird but If you've played Jean Darc, those type of games it makes sense.. To me at least..

Environments are also a good deal more complex than I remember them..

[EDIT]

Also, the sound effects and general weapon modeling is really well done, nearly as good as MOH Airborne, and way better than COD..~Really Satisfying..

Texture streaming, it's like that in most UE3 titles, can also be seen a bit on the jeep later in the video and probably a few other places.

"This review is based on a retail copy of the game purchased by the reviewer."

That's on the second page of the review.
