honestly, i think alot of you europeans have a distorted view of the US. True, there are alot of idiots and uneducated ppl but there are also a ton of intellectual, educated ppl as well. I have alot of american family members, none of whom are as stupid as the international media portrays "all" americans to be.
I will agree that a vast majority of americans are ignorant and arrogant, but definetly not all. alot of them have a very realistic view of whats going on in the world and in their own country.
And ive been to the US alot, they are generally nice ppl. In a country with 350 million ppl, your bound to have alot of idiots.
So really, you guys shouldnt believe everything you see on tv. go to the US, meet ppl and you'll see that not all americans are idiots. it just so happens the idiots make it into the media as they are more entertaining to watch and they continue the stereotype.
Its no better than saying every muslim is a radical fanatic suicide bomber in the making ya know?
Its just sad the powers that be in the US are crazy evangelical christians who think everything they do is divinely inspired.
Thats why i like Obama. he's educated, he is religious but he preaches tolerance and acceptance of all faiths and promotes dialogue and such
where as the republicans are evangelical nutjobs (hagee and farwell and such) who are not better than the fanatical musliims they like to bash

Kinda answered yourself there. No one is saying all of them are (at least not me). But when you have a huge majority of "ignorant and arrogant" and nothing is done to fix the problem, why do you see me and other critics as the problem? |

im not saying your a porblem or anything
Im simply saying americans arent as stupid as the international community likes to make them out to be. and alot of ppl like to lump all 350 million americans together and consider them all dumb and such which is totally unfair.
I know (or atleast suspect) alot of you have never actually been to the US and base your opinions solely on what you see in the media. And thats unfair...its like me saying every person in finland is a fuckin maniac killer who goes around shooting ppl because one guy or 2 guys have done it. Ive never been to Finland, I dont really know how they are and what they are like. I can read all about their culture and such in books and on tv, but when it comes down to it, you need first hand experience to make your decision.
Definetly not decisions and opinions based solely on what you see in the media. |

One thing of interest to note (and ive heard this from ALOT of americans) is that when Americans travel to europe, they tend to wear stuff with the canadian flag on it ie hats, hockey jerseys, shirts etc
Simply because no one has problems with Canadians
So to you euro's, just because someone is wearing canadian gear, doesnt make them canadian, ask to see their passport

Haven't been gaming, watching movies, media or dating for a while... That software engineering degree and the 4 projects I have this semester are really wearing me down.  |
