Since my Xbox 1 died I've got a 300gb hdd sitting here. Anyone know if I can unlock it?

Isn't it a standard notebook hdd or is something different in the bios?

XBOX hard drive maker (Cant remember the name of the tool) tools will do it for ya. You just have to know the eprom key from your old xbox. If it was originally modded with xbox hdm tools there is a universal password, but i don't remember it.

there are various utils etc for unlocking the xbox hdd, most are for the original seagate/wd 8/10gb drives that the xbox shipped with. I'm trying to hunt down my utils, been a couple of years since i last had to. If its an 300gb drive are you sure its locked? i know for softmodded xboxes they had to be locked, but i know my 200gb in my tsop flashed xbox doesnt need the drive locking...

It's a 300gb Maxtor Diamond max. I've checked out HDunlock shame it seems to be the only answer. I'd have perfered to do it myself without paying. Looks like the only option.
