u interact online with the others players's creations. similarly to trackmania where online u see ranking classifics or u can change tracks and cars creations with others players |
you don't interact with people in REAL time. End of story.
Go play WoW/Warhammer Online or whatever and you'll see what a MMO is.
Considering your logic, then it'd mean that any Battle.net games (Warcraft 3, Diablo 2) would be a MMO, well... I have a big news for you......... THEY ARE NOT.
Stop being stubborn and think for once.

warcraft 3 and diablo 2 are only RPG games. i know Spore is not similar to WOW or Warhammer Online or Age Of Conan. in Spore u don't interact with people like for WOW or Warhammer Online, it's not a real MMO but a MSOG. u don't chat with any anyway it's always an online game where u can interact with others peoples's creations. it's similar to trackmania games. u ever tried trackmania online?

Never tried trackmania, but Warcraft 3 is a RTS, not RPG.
Oh and I know how IS Spore when you have a valid key. Doesn't change that much the game experience to me.

I dont know what kind of trackmania you played, but i raced against other people, in real time. And if you do not race against others your basically playing offline and upload your track time. Not really what i call online play anymore at that point. Same goes for user build tracks.
Spore on the other hand seems more like a questionabe art gallery of living things with the most tedious access options one could think of. I dont see the online play in there.

i have played to all trackmania and racing online with live peoples and building and changing with them tracks and cars is more amazing that offline where u can race with ghost cars. this is also a game create to play above all online but it's unusual. anyway to have a fully game experience is need to try this online

If you read RELOADED's NFO, they state to NOT install EA Download manager. It is entirely possible to download the patch from other sites without the EADM, and you dont need EADM to run Spore.
GCW/Gamefix has incorrectly marked the (non virus) Battery Fix for 1.01 as done by RELOADED.

hxxp://eu.spore.com/extra/?id=11326
Quote: | How to get the patch:
To get the patch, launch the EA Download Manager to download and install it.
If you didn’t install the EA Download Manager when you installed Spore, you can get it here.

* More style filters. Open the cheat window and type: "stylefilter -microscope" or "stylefilter -norainbows" or "stylefilter -nextgen" to see the new styles
* Added 70 new planet scripts with a low terraform score, especially of the "hot and high atmosphere" type
Graphics/Aesthetics
* Animation improvements
* Improved the planets fogging, blooming and lighting
* Fixed animation issues with tool handling, hand walking and some of the more oddly shaped creatures
Tuning
* Creature phase: Improved the pacing towards the end of the game, and increased the challenge in Normal and Hard modes.
* Tribe phase: Increased the challenge in Normal and Hard difficulty modes.
* Civilization phase: Increased the challenge in Normal and Hard difficulty modes.
* Space phase: Made Empires in Easy and Normal modes demand reasonable amounts of money in exchange for peace and adjust the level of punishment if the player doesn’t pay
* Space phase: Made disasters less likely to occur in Easy and Normal modes and increased the time between each attack from the enemy empire when the player is at war.
Miscellaneous
* Creature phase: Improved the way posse members behave during threatening situations and fights.
* Space phase: Made finding your home world and colonies easier in the Galactic view.
* Tribe phase: Made it so that tribe members can travel on steep hills if they need to do so now, but their speed will be reduced a lot.
* Fixed an issue with attacks not working on some bigger animals and larger animals not dying correctly
* Fixed collect mission not completing correctly when all parts have been collected
* Fixed problems with the "Rolling Thunder" and "Déjà Vu" achievements not being awarded as they should
* Fixed floating parts not being deducted from the budget when loaded into creator
* Fixed an issue with the rotation rings not resizing correctly when a part was resized and improved their look
* Fixed an issue where the terraforming score of planet could differ when revisiting a solar system
* Fixed the keyboard controls for zoom & pitch in the Colony Planner not working properly
* Fixed a crash that could occur when watching an epic creature attack a city
* Fixed some issues where the game would freeze when using the Creature Tweaker tool or when capturing a planet in solar view
* Fixed an issue where not all tribe members would obey the raid order when a large group was ordered to raid
* Fixed an issue where banning a creation from one of your other saved games would black out the main menu

Well it seems that EA has decided to ban anyone who even speaks about the DRM in anyway.
http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/3869.page
They will ban your account making it impossible to play Spore. It seems that EA has offically become the Nazi party of the gaming industry. I just really love how he posts again and says this
Quote: | Never forget what's going on here today. You'll want to include that in your decision making should you chose to buy another product from EA and/or Maxis. |
Oh don't worry I won't be buying anymore EA or Maxis games for now on its pure piracy for me here on out you son of a bitch. I had respect enough for Maxis to buy Spore and I accepted the DRM but your behavior is the last fucking straw on the camel's back.
You should be grateful to us for purchasing your games and keeping your business and job alive. Your suppose to listen and try to make our time playing your games as enjoyable as possible. Oh we will remember this day my friend and you should too because this day marks the day of EA's decline which will end in bankruptcy. I'll se you begging on the streets for change motherfucker.

Guess they call him hippy cause he is doped up... I mean anyone who argues a point of fact that everyone else on the forum and the NFO included with the game states....
Hippy12, you can download the patch from most gaming sites like fileshack/fileplanet etc.

i will don't go to speack with Will Wright of DRM anyway spore is a game to be bought cause the online don't work without an original key. no one is been able to make work the online in this game. a sporepedia private server or something like this must be done. without an online it's boring and sucks.

hippy there is no reason to worry about the online aspects of spore. Go find creature and building packs.Copy n paste dude, its the same thing, and you avoid all the garbage creations too.
Offline means you cant get access to the sporepedia or sporecasts. Big deal, doesnt stop the game. Ok so you cant see how many times your creatures are domesticated, or killed or whatever. Does any of that stuff really matter to game play? No. Ya still play, and still get your buttocks kicked by the grox.
While the online access part is cool, but things work just fine without it.

without a full access to sporepedia or sporecasts almost a good part of the game is lost i think and then if u can't interact with other creatures created from the others players. offline u can't download conteints from the Maxis database or share them and u don't have then the instruments, in order to know statistics of your creations or that of others players. so u can't have a full experience of the game like all MMO or MSOG like this though
