I was actually going to ask what the fucking point was..
But they will probably release lots of customization stuff for the avatars, clothes, hair and shit like that. And ofcourse its going to cost money.

Uh, how is 5 bucks a month for Live Gold a rip off? The service is superior in any way to the PS network which is free. And if you look around at Ebay you can get it even cheaper.
Sure there will be themes and such for points, but no one's forcing anyone to buy it. Geez, every company wants to make money, that's the way it is. If you don't like all that cute stuff (I don't like it) then just don't buy any costumes and shit.
I personally think they add great features with every update, great work.

i dont suppose anyone can say for sure whether or not the ppl with flashed drives are fucked or not could they? i dont care about being banned that is fine cause i will go get another one with them being so cheap but i still would like a working modded box. Could always keep the games i want to play on the ps3 as well.

you can play x264 encoded Video Files on Xbox360. But not in mkv. Only mp4 Conatiner.
But you cant use all encoding Options. You need Level 4.1 High Profile,lower Bitrate etc
But you CAN play x264 on xbox360 !

no AC3 or DTS audio support sucks, everything must be downsampled to AAC-LC 2 channel. I bought one of of those PH A100 NMTs out of frustration.

"Xbox Live Service Maintenance
On Monday, 9/29/2008 from 12:01 AM PST for up to 24 hours, Xbox Live will be offline for maintenance. As a result, Xbox LIVE and the ‘My Xbox’ section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums will be in read only mode (you won’t be able to post.) The remainder of Xbox.com will be available with limited interruptions.
This service maintenance is in preparation for the new Xbox experience which will be available later this fall.
Let me reiterate: When the service returns, you will not have any new features and you will not have the new Xbox experience update. That will happen later this Fall.
As usual, I’ll make a post and update my Twitter when the service returns."

on XBL there's a promo going on advertising Rock Band 2 along with the new XBL experience and it clearly says "Coming in November" and it goes on to talk about avatars and the new features.

Why?? I don't need a HDD. I don't miss it at all. Loading times are fast enough without it. Way faster than what I'm used to from the PC. And I don't download DLC, movies or some other crap. And I can download and burn demos with the PC.

first since when hdd had any influence on loadings on 360 and wtf your pc has to do with your xbox 360?
second what is the point having xbox live if u still dLding demos with pc and burning them on disk and not dLding any DLC's?
hell if i wasn't banned i'd still be getting DLC's and demos from xlive, demos load10 times faster from hdd
third if m$ says u need 128mb free space then u can at least get 256 or 512 mb memory card, i have so many savegames that they will defo not gonna fit on 64mb card, assuming that's what u got
