the _original_ RLD release isnt working for me.. getting errors when I try to start the game, I'll try the with the 1.5.0.4 update as soon as its done downloading...

doesnt work for me, even with the update 1.5.0.4 + cracked content it gives an error when starting the game:

This file is in the main game folder, when I copy it to the /bin folder, another error:

This folder (gamedata in /bin) doesnt even exist!
I'd say bad crack.

I followed the instructions and it worked.
Although my instructions didnt say anything about the key the install asked for, which i could leave blank and it would progress anyway.

nvm, I figured it out.. somehow starting the game directly from the xrEngine.exe didn't work, however, if I start the game from the start menu shortcut, it starts without problems...

played a little with the RLD release.. but damn this is some unoptimized crap! around 15 FPS on my rig @ 1280 resolution
edit: will wait for this PoS to get patched and playable, just like its predecessor (which took ~1 yr)
its sad really.. this is the very reason why ppl don't buy games.. unfinished/optimized games

Since obviously you don't know shit about scene/sites, I will give you a little hint: you cannot pre a file with the same file name, reloaded had to rename it and guide you to replace it manually. |

yeah, this is very very demading... i cant play in high settings, and even with medium settings i get low fps.

RLD crack works fine with the various Multi5/ images released in the last week and a half. yeh!
What blows me away is how the whingers have shifted from whinging about the lack of a crack on to whinges about the game. Since the game has never pretended to be other than a sequel/prequel to SOC why would anyone who didn't like stalker 1 expect anything else?
Surely the peeps who don't like this type of game should be commenting on games that do interest them.
I dunno how others see it but I find the continual complaining and negativity in this forum says more about the poster than it ever does about the game being commented on.

We all knew that when the english version finally got cracked we would prolly have to start over. So why start playing a russian convert if you don't wanna do that. There are still options. Surely if you don't like starting over you can chose to keep playing the version you have been.
I think Stalker is great and we need to say how good it is to see a game made for PC, that can be modded to our hearts content and hasn't been stuffed to let it be ported to some console.

I have Stalker 1 installed but havent played it yet. But Im having fun with Clear Sky. Very good game. I do find it a bit hard tho. I mean, at the beginning atleast (where I am) you get shitty ass guns. 2 round shotguns and rifles sucks. i want automatics and shit.
Its hard taken out a camp of rebels with a 2 round sawed off shotty
Any tips you can recommend? |

tips? Use [ and ] keys for quick bandage and quick medic, and loot everything you kill. Drop useless stuff afterward not to get past you weight limit.
I managed to play trough the first two zones. Though it was buggy when I first got in face of the military and had nowhere to go, but you need to use the northern exit. After you kill one military, you take it's gun and ammo and it's much much easier. Also, buy a good armor and upgrade it with all your money.
I like the game, but it bring nothing much really. None of the complaints about the first game got answered, and most of all, will it be the exact same level all game long? This suck.
I have a 9800gtx and play in DX10 mode, 1680x1050 and medium settings. High get a bit laggy (~17fps) but medium is a smooth 60fps. A big problem I have is the polygon appearing in the sky when it rain, and I remember about this in the first game. Updating video drivers helped back then, but now I use 177.92 and it don't work.

Where do I buy new guns? Where do I buy different kinds of ammo (rifle, machine gun, pistol etc)
(Desperatly) Where do I buy new armour? And how do I upgrade my guns (I have a scope I wanna put on a gun but I cant drap and drop sorta thing)?
Please answer asap cause Im getting my ass kicked because my armour and guns suck like shit

You don't really have to buy new guns. Start mostly with the handgun, at some point you might loot a upgraded one, and at some point you will kill a military and get his AK47 looking gun. Same thing for ammo, if you loot everything you kill you shouldn't wear out, I even drop some on the ground cause I have too many.
As for the armor and upgrade it's the traders and upgraders in the base, depending were you are at but it's easy to find.
