I also love the Half Life series, but to me GTA is the most innovative one.

obviously HL2 is going to win as there are so many fan bois here and people who have not played SA..HL2 does have a good engine/physics and probably is the best fps.. but imo SA has the gameplay, imagination , bucket loads more fun ,lasts a lot longer (still playing it since its launch, while i have completed HL2), secrets still to be found Yetis/UFO's/Ghosts/Monkeyman ect ect
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

i have bought both and GTA:SA wins it. For the simple reason that you can do so much but in half-life you gotta to follow the story.

I have GTA:SA and I honestly got bored of it pretty quickly. The graphics and controls were terrible, and the missions pretty boring.
I've completed HL2 and am bored of that aswell, but I had a great time playing it, and I know mods will extend it's life.
HL2 for me.

Explain to me how GTA:SA beats HL2 AI wise?
Definitely not gameplay wise either.
Still, i'll play the PC version. Better graphics and controls can make all the difference.

character development? what, because u can change the fatness of him much like 10 years ago in WWF games.  still look shit too, hl2 has good character development. and gameplaywise i think hl2 is better too. gta is boring and not much an improvement over VC. I dont know ne1 who has stuck with SA til the end.

HL2 sux imo... cant understand whats so good about it.
It was quite short and linear...
I brought that game and i found only disappointment when i finished it.
It was just a show off of their new engine imo.
The AI wasnt that good either..
they simply hid behind objects... and when u moved they ran to you even tho they were being shot at.
When telling the AI to stay at a place they followed after 30sec. So basicly to make the AI work u have to be standing still hiding behind an object, letting them shoot for you. You cant strafe around or approch the enemey a bit from the barricade that they are hiding behind, as they will follow, even when told to stay put.

i finished Half Life in like 7-8 hours ... would have done it faster if the loadings werent so present.
the new gta has a shitload of new gameplay features which makes it more enjoyable.

look i know that gta isnt out yet to the pc i even didnt play GTA:SA but iam toolking about the overall experience of gta after all HL2 is only another shoter
but GTA is somthing else its all in one package.i played GTA:VC for months but HL2 iam playing cople days and i didnt get the fun plaing expireance of GTA series.
I know my english is bad so correct me if i wrong.

I have not yet played SA, I have to admit, but I still voted it despite the fact I purchased Half Life 2. Half Life 2 is a great shooter, best shooter I've ever played without a doubt, but it just can't beat the GTA franchise for me, gawd I hope SA comes on PC soon.

San Andreas is more original, open-ended, and has lots and lots of things you can do.
HL2 is basically another scripted shooter, but because of its multiplayer features and a strong modding community it will have a longer lifespan.
Investing in HL2 will give you at least six years of fun. HL1 did.
