The bad Terminator at the end being emotional too I didn't like though. Negates the unique thing completely. I hope I misunderstood the scene.

That final 1 minute scene where John sees Derek and his father again, only to realize that no one recognizes him, as well as Cameron (or in this case the human Alison) walking into the shot with the dog and also not recognizing him - is fucking EPIC. The music and shot was just so perfect - really begs for Season 3

The actions of the present John Connor (the events that happened in Season 1 & 2), altered the future such that the John Connor of the original future (the one that sent Cameron and Derek back) never did so - this could be because he is no longer their leader or for some other unknown reason. This explains why Derek is still alive.

Also, it could be due to Cameron's actions (she put her chip in John Henry's head, and she uploaded himself into John Henry's computer "the Turk").

Also, remember what Sarah says to John right before he jumps away with the liquid metal? Something along the lines of "I'll stop it...". While she didn't stop Judgment Day, she may have altered it in such a way in which John wasn't Skynet's primary target (not the leader)

With all the paradoxes and "what if's" involved in time travel , you can't really tell. If you do one thing different in the present, you could completely alter a future time line. Time travel experts feel free to chime in here please...

You're missing the point here a little bit. The entire reason for the John / Cameron tension or whatever you'd like to call it is this - Can a machine learn to love a human and vice versa?

Throughout the entire series we have seen how Cameron has evolved, becoming more human like - yet never being able to lose her inner machine. She is so close, but will never be able to - she knows this, and so does John.

-The scene in the Season 2 premier where John is about to umplug her chip as she's pinned against the truck - she starts hysterically telling him she loves him. Of course, she was lying - but this shows that she now understands that humans value love - that's the first step.

-The scene in Season 2 where she befriends the librarian in the wheelchair. She carries him upstairs, tells him she doesn't have many friends, and even teaches him fire a gun.
And yet, later in the episode, she asks him if he's ever considered suicide because he was "defective". At the end of the episode, he is no longer at the library, and Cameron quickly forgets about him as soon as the new librarian lets her in.

Again, she shows signs of becoming more human. You can almost "feel" her learning, drawing the connections between humans and the significance of friendship. Yet just as quickly as she learns this, she forgets it as soon as it no longer impacts her mission.

-The scene in Season 2 where she talks to the pigeon and subsequently accidentally kills it. The fact that she talks to the bird instead of outright killing it shows again, that she is learning to value life.

Ask yourself this - how can a pure machine be taught to value life? It can't. Cameron is, at her core, guided by her mission directives. And yet, somehow, she is picking up and comprehending human values that no machine could. She's becoming more human, but she'll always be a machine.

That said, the motel scene where he cuts her open was all that was needed IMO. Would you stick your dick in a toaster Syco?

I have seen every single episode of the series over the course of about a week.
It may not be coming back Syco, the ratings were apparently incredibly bad.

However, Season 3 has so much potential it would be a crying shame for it to never be made

-John takes his fathers side as a leader/coleader of the resistance.
-John's struggle between finding Cameron's chip, and trying not to fall for her human counterpart (Alison).
-The rogue Skynet faction siding with the humans (The Zierra Corp bitch is a rogue).

There is so much potential its unbelievable.


HOWEVER -

This series almost has as devoted a fan base as Fire Fly - another wonderful show that got shit canned as they opted for more of that "reality" TV stuff.
