Theres more to it than just "idiots buying their shit" theres also the people who use Windows everyday and of who Microsoft can say "Look at our huge userbase" to developers. I know you use Windows everyday and play games on Windows, even if you didn't pay money for it your still being part of the problem and not the solution, that goes for everyone who thinks if they don't pay Microsoft money then they don't help them gain more control either, that is very wrong.
Words are cheap, when theres not any action behind them. |

Bioshock is boring as dogs crap :/ Kane & Lynch FTW!
Just finished Metal Gear Solid 2 on PS2 yesterday and it can't be beaten in terms of story but still the game is awesome. The downsides of gamplay in K&L would be dumb ai i guess. Sometimes they are too easy to shoot down.
Still the games is PACKED with action, often on the razor's edge.

- no cover mode (at all) in bioshock (comparing tpp to fpp is a little stupid but hey, im just making a reply) - sorry LeoSatan,
- camera angles were fine with me, no idea what ur talkin about
- enemies die with one shot in the head (if it wasnt possible, you couldnt finish the game - its fucking hard and swarming with enemies at the end), did you play for 1 or 10 minutes?,
- graphics -  bioshock has greeeeaaaatttt gfx and so what? It's still boring as fuck!
- level design? wtf? totally different levels and environments. what about bioshite? THE UNDERWORLD CITY - whoooaahh!
- story - maybe you think it's predictable, but also it's somewhat realistic (could happen) and not some sci-fi bullshit. However i just like "normal" stories not those "alternative" ones or sci-fi. Some like psychedelic games, some not. I do not.
I'll add characters and DIALOGUES which are sometimes funny, sometimes sad and sometimes in them "fuck" is used as an empty space between words.
And action - the only moment in bioshock that was "action-packed" was the ending and the moment at the beginning where the lights went out. Later on it's only shooting, buying plasmids, changing them and collecting littles sises all the time.
Wanna compare a normal game with a story to DX10 scam game?
So...shit vs gold would be bioshite versus kanes' & lynches gold.
Anyway, i just made my stand. Glad you replied with yours.

Horrid camera angels? C'mon you just made that up! Also I didn't have a problem with the cover system. Yes it was unusual that it was automatic and it was probably not the best way but it was easy to figure out how you must stand/move to get him into cover if you're not too lazy. And graphics outdated by 5 years, crappy level design - yeah right....
Especially the level design was the strongest point of the game. The level design was absolutely fantastic, it was very varied and really cool. I don't know any other game with so different levels.
I think some people can't recognize a great game even when it punches them in the face. Imo it's sad that good games like this one don't get the appreciation they deserve and overhyped, really broken games like Crysis (which looks and runs worse on low-medium details than Far Cry on high) get top scores and praise everywhere eventhough it offers nothing new.

Indeed, completed it on xbox and still having fun playing coop with friends. But its not more than 7-8/10.

Story ok.... gameplay... well... it's just "aim-shoot, aim-shoot" etc through all the game.... the gameplay is VERY limited and repetitive imho.... best gamplay I'd say Bioshock, with plasmids, tonics, etc, made it quite various. Even crysis, which is quite "ordinary" in the gameplay is more various and innovative than this thx to nanosuit etc...
I'm not saying K&L sucks, but it's not GOTY or even near....
I'd say 7.5/10

Yeah... and the fact that the game is broken the camera angles are horrid, the cover system 90% of the time doesnt work, the weapons all have the same damage, enemies can take 5 shots in the face or 5 in the pinky toe yet they die of the same damage, the graphics are outdated by about 5 years, the NPC's are useless and annoying, the level design is crappy and even the story is predictable..
Id say Kane and Lynch compared to Bioshock is like shit vs gold.. |
You forgot the fact that none of the guns are accurate regaurdless of the situation, the guns either hit or miss, there is no in between.
While I thought the story was one of the best in the year next to bioshock, the gameplay was about as generic and lacking as I've ever seen. The only thing that worked well was swapping weapons. Felt like I was trying to make love to a wall just trying to get my guy to stick to it. |

i just plugged in a xbox controller. but i cant sign in a 2nd player.
Seems that my controller is assigned as player 1,
how can i select player 2 or anything?
Very frustrating :S

Never got passed the jungle mission, at least after the invading that lil village area and cross the bridge and have to be a bit stealthy which was impossible to get headshots since there is no real aiming in this game.
Maybe i should start it up again.
Going ot be interesting to see how the movie turns out seeing as Bruce Willis' movies are good as gold
