yeah its really epic fail to restrict registering to the last moment ... OR ... actually ...
maybe its their way to control the flow of people joining the open beta (as in, control the flow of people trying to connect to the game servers, to prevent a overload ?)
could be ...

I'm glad my account is made - I'm just waiting for them to start this open beta. Pretty excited myself.

My friend who tries to register right now just called and said this seem very odd because the site is not even secure. It's written in HTTP and not HTTPS, even more strange just a simple flashsite with not secrue connection at all (?) I'm no computer wizard so I have no clue, he at the other hand works with servers and shit.
Mythic might have done a huge misstake hiring GOA for servers and stuff?? I imagine the people at Mythic are pretty pissed off right now because if this hitchup continue it will ruin the credibility of the game. I played the BETA on a US server and that worked well, but imagine if this will continue, serverlag...patching problem etc. It will kill the whole europeen community...

Why do you think it will kill the whole European community? It's a beta... isn't the point of beta to work out bugs like this?
ALSO! I'm concerned your friend doesn't really know what he's talking about. A site doesn't really need to be written in HTTPS, more that the server needs to have the site running in HTTPS so its secured.

I'm just saying, but the flashsite alone is a bad thing I think. Well, bad choice more likely.
Yes it's a beta and they're suppose to work out bugs and shit. I didn't say it WILL kille the community, more likely that it can if this continue. I'm sure they will work out the registration issue..sooner or later. But what if the next step would be patching problem or huge server lag. People will be like "wtf?". The closed beta on US servers worked really good so we'll see if they have the same problems when the openbeta starts there later today.
I'm not blaming Mythic here, the game is good for what it is (even if I didn't have that fun with it). But I'm not sure GOA is the right provider for the servers, not sure what they done earlier concerning this huge amount of people. Codemaster might have been a better choice as provider?

No I understand what you're saying, I just wouldn't worry too much about it as of right now is all 
We'll see how it plays out later today on the US servers (which I am playing on). This is to anyone on a US server today. If you're rolling on a US server, PM me which server you're playing on when they come up. That Pit server I rolled on earlier may be a good choice as the name will probably be the same.

I think maybe they're focusing on getting the US beta up and running 100% and then they can just put the same framework in place for europe last minute. Imagine they have registration working for both but no servers. Me thinky they would have more angry people that way

Quite stupid - I signed up with 3 accounts more than a year ago..and still i cant get into this beta. I've been keeping my eyes open for another go every day, and still I didnt manage to get in.
Ah well - the full game isnt that far away I guess. I just wanted to give it ago to know if its worth the cash or not.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
