with the latest patch installed it does not work...the previous patch works though with the crack...maybe u are doing something wrong.

I think you have to unmount the image and exit Dtools ( personally, I disable all virtual drives and then close it ) after you replaced the rigged protect.dll back with the original one. After that the game will just load up without a problem.

wtf is this an joke, i woke up this morning and put some coffee on, and went out with the dog. happy as hell since i was gonna buy stalker from steam today. but instead they delayed it!!
why the fuck did they delay the steam release?! they dont want to earn cash?!

I post this in the official GSC Game world forum, but i still think that here i can find more people that will have an idea what to do with the folloling problem:
So i get my pre-order yesterday (European version of the game), i got home, install the game, apply patch V1.5.03 and start the game. I was playing on Enhanced full dynamic lightning (DX10) render, with quality set on "high" and 1280x1024 resolution, without touching the "Advanced" options. So i played a little bit but i wasn't happy with the frame rate so i decide to put the quality to "medium"... and then all hell break loose.

hope that every one can see the "nice" glitch on the screenshot:(
so i put the quality back to "high" but no luck. Now no meter what options i try on "Enhanced full dynamic lightning (DX10) render" i am getting this glitch. If i put other render, it looks ok, but i can't see any logic in this.
My system specs are:
Win Vista 32 bit
CPU: DualCore Intel Pentium D 805, 2676 MHz;
Video: SAPPHIRE TOXIC HD 3870 512MB GDDR4 PCI-E
RAM: 2GB
This morning i update with the last drivers for my video card but no luck. My best guess is that there is some DX10 option that is crashing everything bit i still don't find the logic, because i was playing on "high" and the problem showed up when it turn down to "medium". So any ideas anyone?
+ how can i turn the options back to default settings?

Was going initially to buy this game, even went around looking for it in the hopes of some local game stores got their hands on it. When that failed I was hoping I'd be able to buy it through steam and be able to get it "early" that way.
Looks like I'll be pirating this mofo and saving my money for something else.....

the thing many complain about is bugs, and this game is a game with a good modding comunity, and devs that actully care about their fans, thats why im buying it. im not at all afraid of the bugs. since they will be removed.

I just patched over v1.5.03 and replaced files in the bin folder with cracked ones, and yup it works just fine with english localization files and english voices (xenglish.db).
