A English clone was uploaded to PB, might not work though depending on how it's done but atleast it ought to be possible to use the voice data for those who need it.
(Russian vesion does sound more authentic as there are quite a few untranslated lines and the English localization is heavily accented and thus sounds a bit odd at times from what I've read, still not everything is subtitled either like the intro sequence where you talk to Lebedev.)

I have the russion version (patched to 1.5.0.3 and using the switch dll crack).
Using the local files supplied by JBeckman earlier in this thread (thank you for those sir), placed in a "GameData" folder, and the "xenglish.db" localization file supplied over on TPB simply swapped over with the russian file ( located in the localization folder offcourse), and the game is working perfect.
Full working ENGLISH localized instal of the game. Tried on both Vista and XPPro.
Thank you all for the file contribution.

Thanks for the patch link. Hope the people that used the english.txt files via Jbeckman found them useful. Thanks Jbeckman for forwarding on.
The other language text and voice sound files will also work with the Ru version, but you have to install the game in the full language version that you want then copy the localization folder to the Ru version (remove the russian localization folder first) and then you will have the language including the voice sounds of what you prefer. Best though to rename for example the xenglish.db file to xrussian.db. That way users don't have to go down the "mod" road to get the language sounds and or text they want.
I have the xenglish.db file which is well over 200mb, but because of my BW limitations as far as speed goes it would take to long to upload. There would be some of you other people that could upload though that have faster UL speed.
In all honesty, this game is definately worth buying if you know how to setup your HW to take full advantage of what it has to offer, I have both the Ru (from ebay) and the Euro multi language release that I bought from EB here in OZ earlier this week thats why I gave you guys the text files. But I did not do that to do GSC (small Dev) out of sales, although GSC should release a demo which may help people decide to buy or not.

Has anyone tried this release? I am downloading it to see if I can get it to run but if someone else has tried, please let me know if I am wasting my time as the only reason I am downloading it is cuz its the english release and I am hoping its as simple as downloading it and hoping/searching for a crack...

There's a unofficial patch for that, was fixed in the 1.02 patch (1.5.04) but I'll see if I can't find the unofficial fix as well.
EDIT: Fixes the not enogh ID's bug related to ammo stashes.

It's the patched files from the second patch, Russian version and it includes the above fixes albeit official from GSC - what this doesn't include is the updated files in the Bin folder so any fixes there aren't included.

So, few words of explanation concerning Polish release. It's true that the game is already out here, but first off it's hella expensive, and secondly it crashes randomly close to the Janter level, and we have to wait for some patch to fix major problems.
Also, the optimalization is not that good o.O.

Seems I ran into a bug, using XPatch_04.db and the English Localization I am not able to leave cordon into garbage. The pop up shows up but when i click yes it just turns me around. Not sure why it asks since theres no button for no unless yes really means no and yes is not showing up. Anyone else run into this problem?

relating to "unsecure" etc. rapidshare releases...some guys packed a trojan into the Mercenaries 2 PC Crackfix...there was one 10mb version on usenet and a 7mb one...the 7mb one was real...whereas my norton warned me when i unpacked the 10mb one..hehe....so YES. For me it's impossible to start the Russian Version with the protect.dll-Trick. The game doesn't start. It always detects emulation software (like Daemon Tools, which is needed). And then it crashes with a bluescreen. Any suggestions?
