actually we are doing something about it  ...... we'll destroy our civ long before long before any asteroid will crash down.... so i doubt any asteroid will destroy the human civilisation

I say we better hurry up terraforming and colonizing mars
but if it was up to me I'd nuke planet earth from all side until there's absolutely no sign
of human life and earth is just a hazardeous ball shaped rock

Possible... But I think 500 Km Diamter is not enough.
I think a Mars size object like "Theia" might do the trick but  .

what i don't get is where this fire storm came from that hit the rest of the earth, seems a bit....over the top.
