Longest. Install. Ever.

Or maybe it just feels that way.

Edit;

Ah, Cartoon and Sueil, in the coming days we'll all be destroying and building civilizations. I haven't been this excited since Rome Total War.

It may be creating the universe while installing, would be cool atleast, no same universe for anyone who bought the game.

No, the game itself as a whole simply does not start. Start Spore, Black Screen for a second, then back to desktop.

Do you have Windowblinds or anything like that installed? I remember ages ago when I was running XP / Windowblinds that would sometimes happen to me with certain games, and I just needed to unload Windowblinds.

You know the really shitty thing is if this game sells as well as its expected too and if people fall in love with the game causing even more to rush out and buy it. I bet they will simply credit the DRM has the cause of the sales instead of the game itself or the ability to use Sporepedia.

In the end we are just encouraging them unfair protection...

Any kind of limitations on how many times im allowed to install the software i buy, or how long im allowed to use it is a serious no go for me.

I'll NEVER buy such a game.

Follow these instructions:

Mount in DT and install the game
Copy the content from the Crack folder on the CD, into your installed game folder
Play the game

Note: If you want to use my crack on with your own production, then remember to

Yes did notice that. Even if it's not really cracked. It seems possible it's the real DVD. From playing with the files.

Ah well playing with it more. The readme inside is for the creator creature. So think we can confirm this is fake.

I know atleast that "SporeSetup.exe" is part of the real game, however the autorun and the setup is the exact same size, which leads me to believe that those exes are probably some kind of trojan software.

The crack folder might be missing because the download is not complete.

I'd say its the real dvd, Looks strcturely like a EA game and I think the installer looks to be made by NSIS, which was the one EA used with mass effect iirc

I have my doubts, looking from the ISO there are a couple of issues:
1. The readme file is that of the Spore Creature Creator, with Creature Creator taken out of course.
2. The modification dates suggest that he have probably copied it from another EA title.
3. Those dates also suggest that the other files were made by himself.
4. The game, atleast through EA Store, is just a bit under 4GB

Would be cool if it's the real DVD, even without a crack, but i doubt it.

come on.. autorun exe and setup exe same size and same file date?

My guess is that someone took an EA game and built a fake spore release around that.

Kind of sad tho how people try everything to get their trojans and backdoors onto other's computers.
