Then you can begin to play immediatly when it's released in your region.

Next Sunday is my regions release date. Fuck waiting that long when the Aussies have had it for 2 days already. |
So what can you do about it? you'll need a cd-key anyway if you're to participate in the sporepedia and have stuff sourced onto your local installation from the database, I gather thats a pretty big part of the game and won't work without the key. |

Lets suppose that a cracked version will be out before you can legally download it, what if then the server checks if the game executables has passed check and thus possible been tampered with or not?, then you can't legally play it, and as it's Securom thats highly likely. |

Why would you use the cracked executable when you can just use the one that comes with the game, and before you say it, no it is possible to use the EA store keys with the retail game.

If you install from a home made iso it wont magically detect you're cd-key as one that you bought online.

Yeah in one of the postings on the EA forums the had a Q&A about the new copy protection. Saying you will not need a disc in the drive to play. Trying to make it sound like hey thats great thanks EA. When really you are getting screwed by Securom. So having a non original disk won't be a problem.

Yeah usually they have a disc check on the retail games as well, nice to see they went away from that. But still you have a limit of 3 activations right? |
