Yeah, but you can play the game offline after you activate it.

Yes, you’ll be able to play Spore offline.

Anyway, we need some Australian nfohumpers (haha) to confirm, I think that guy is pure BS.

To activate it you need a real cd-key. Yes you can play it offline but you still need to be able to go online to activate it before you can play it.

Yeah... we know that, what are you trying to say?

Securom is not as omnipotent as it used to be, someone will crack that thing up eventually. But then the game will be 'crippled' we'll have to populate our universe manually Razz

But if you don't activate it you wont get more than 7 planets to play with, if the gamespot guy is real.

I don't think that guy is real after all, the game must have some way to randomize content if it doesn't have external assets to populate the universe, and if doesn't, Maxis got lazy big time! It will be the users responsibility. And it makes sense, that's why they released the CC early on.

And you HAVE to activate the game to play it, to receive custom content you need to create an Sporepedia account.

"receive custom content"
Or you can just go to spore pedia and download it all manually as they are all saved as png images.

It isn't just about the creatures, the custom content is tied into the galaxy, i guess theoretically it is possible that you populate the galaxy with new stuff on sporepedia, but consider you'll actually have to do all that yourself, instead of the game automatically taking care of it.

That said given the review posted earlier the person on gamespot must definitely be full of shit.

The game requires activation to run, registration shouldn't be nessecary, only a bonus to the game.

No it is not.

Activation allows playing the game.
Registration registers you on sporepedia for uploading and downloading of content.

No, the game can be played without any kind of interaction with sporepedia, you don't need to register and you don't need to login.

Hey you're back, and finally you're talking about valid points. Yeah the game will get boring eventually unless it randomizes by itself the game. I still think the game is way, way overhyped.

Hard believe it's almost here. Been waiting many years for this. I know it won't live up to the hype. However it will still be nice to finally get to play it. Just wish I lived in Australia right now.

I'm really rooting for this game. I want to see it be one of the games that we will remember and have high opinions of. I want it to reach that epic level where the game will stay in our hearts.

Will it do this? I don't know but we shall see very soon.

I'm sure it willl be memorable. A game that lets you create everything will leave a big impression. Just because everything is so personal. All my best gaming memories are stuff I did and shaped. Events that are unique to us leave the biggest impressions. Much more so than just cut scenes that everyone experiences.

What would possess you to run a keygen for a securom protected game that hasn't even seen a release yet? There was 0% chance that it was real.

And in 6 months you have used your activations and you can't play until you contact EA. And for a lot of people that would mean call to a different country (not exactly the cheapest thing to do). Use email you say? Don't expect them to give you another activation before a month has passed since you mailed them Sad

You mean that in 6 moth's it normal to change hardware 3 times and at the same time still know that all you need to do is uninstall the game to get you're activation back, and still don't do it.
