Is that all it is? But the engine/graphics and also AI looks so much more polished! That video we just saw .. all that is available from the 1.6 patch and 1.7/1.8 DLCs?

Im a little confused.
Is the Two Worlds Epic Edition a stand alone or just an expansion type thing? It is $19.99 on EB's site while Two Worlds for PC lists at $39.99 still.

Quite a while ago, actually :-\
I'm gonna grab the latest patches and replay it at some point .. but I'm still debating just playing it on my 360 instead, especially now I know those fuck-awful framerate issues are only at the very start of the game and they clear up.

Im going to stop by the Gamestop here and buy the Epic Edition.
I always thought there wasa game there I would like, but the biugs killed it for me. From what i am reading, seems like they have improved it a lot.
Plus, I want to try out the multiplayer.

You can actually enable the console on the X360 version as well (Think it's both of the top two buttons on the pad that needs to be pressed.) so you could tweak and alter the game however you want on console.
You can also use the control panel and modify the game that way for PC in order to enhance either visual quality or improve performance.
(Game still looks pretty good with the most recent update applied, trees look rather low-res though due to the software used for them, it's similar to the 2D sprites with SpeedTree used in titles like Oblivion and Gothic 3.)

Bought it yesterday. jumped in multiplayer last night for a bit.
Pretty interesting.
Definitely worth $19.99.

As far as I can remember this was a very mediocore RPG with some severe balancing issues. After some hours I was already invincible, making the gaming experience extremely boring. It had a huge and apparently full and interesting world though. I guess I'll try it with the big patch one of these days.

I liked the game, much more than Oblivion. I think it's seriously underrated.

it's very much playable after the patch.. the enviroments are very varied, not like in oblivion. really cool idea that you can merge weapons etc too, makes it fun finding the same weapon twice.

Yeah, but increasing the foliage distance and density even slightly more will make the 360 RROD in less than a minute...

Well now that you mention it the hardware in the X360 might not handle anything too crazy when doing graphics alterations.
EDIT: Personally I use the following commands, it's not perfect so I'm still adjusting it.
(To avoid issues these are put in a Settings.txt file in the game directory and then called with the @Settings.txt command, needs to be used a few times though as not all settings take effect the first time it's entered, known issue.)

does the 360 have any updates that fixed any of the bugs? I know how sometimes you play a 360 game and it downloads updates first.

The X360 version has all patches that the PC version has but it starts at version 1.5 so most critical bugs are already fixes and NPC quality is improved a bit with realistic looking faces.
1.6 patch is still available though and that one further balances and optimized gameplay.
1.7 and 1.8 (Unsure if that's what it'scalled.) are available as DLC's (Curse of Souls, Tainted Blood.) but those aren't patches as such and only add some new multiplayer levels with new quests.

Isn't how the game looks with the patches on PC, right? Because I'll have to download it and check it out if it does...

Once again Gametrailers confuses people with videos from Two Worlds in the wrong section.
The above video is indeed how the game looks but you're looking at the wrong game as the videos show "Two Worlds: The Temptation".
Two Worlds - 1st title released, had a few critical bugs but these have been fixed as of the latest patch.
Two Worlds: The Temptation - Originally meant to be a expansion for two worlds it's since then grown to become a full sequel, now scheduled to be released in May 2009 boosting many improvements over the first game including a new renderer to further increase the visuals among several other things. (Better AI, better combat, better spells, better abilities yada yada yada all that stuff.)
Read the newsletters about the new game to find out more about it, really looking forward to it as it seems like a massive improvement over the first game.
http://www.insidetwoworlds.com/local_links.php?catid=25
(Two Worlds isn't that bad but it had a really bad start with version 1.0 released in the EU.)

Yeah, so this is not how the game currently looks and plays, thanks! I'll wait for 2009.

This isn't that great in practice. In the time it takes you to find a lot of copies of one weapon to merge, you'll have found a better weapon. This is really only useful for the top level weapons to improve those even further.

Not always but sometimes yes. At least it's better than in other rpg's where you often find millions of copies of 1 weapon and they are of no use except maybe for exchange for some silver.

Only thing I liked about it was the huge, open, world I'm a sucker for those, still a huge world isn't much if it all look's the same and uses the same textures could be a console memory problem or just laziness.

As much as you guys like to dis it, Oblivion (+ mods for textures and foliage) is still the best open-world game out there (fantasy, not space sim, etc)...
