This game is REALLY HARD!, I mean really!...I am lucky i read German, as there is several Walkthroughs out there in...yup Deutsch!.
Some of the puzzles I would never have figured without.
And remember later on when U get crashes using the "Vitality" release" get the German NO DVD.exe and swap for the Eng one, once past that crash point, swap back (you won't be able to read nothing using that German no DVD crack), been doing it like 3 times already and i am on the 3rd level, it works.
Remember to use Ur "Auto save" when stuff crashes on ya.

Swapping the to the German exe will garble the English version text. I only use it to pass the areas where it crashes (3 times so far, I am on chapter 3 at the mo). Then simply swap back and load up the save I did just after the crash point.
I guess you could start shifting language files and what have you, but not sure that the German version have the same problem in other areas...crashing where the English version don't that is.

This game needs a friggin patch. If you forget something from a previous chapter and I mean PREVIOUS!, you are screwed down the line big time. I am playing chapter 5 at the mo and I can't get past a puzzle cause i missed some duct tape from chapter three, normally the game would not let you pass to the next level if you don't have all the stuff with you...or?

couldnt find any english guide but as i posted above heres a link: Better translation
i managed to get thru the game on these two guides

Hey guys, time to clear up some mystery...today we present Vitality's oath of
disclosure.
Quote from Perry.Rhodan.PROPER-ViTALiTY: "We have to ruin our nfo because
some retard group in disguise released this..."
Well, they ruined their nfo themselves, let's go for their reputation
then...
The "retarded group in disguise" is obviously Razor1911.
As we don't have any german subgroup and we decided that this game was still
worthy of a release, we put it out by the dummy name of "REDHERRING"
(Perry.Rhodan.GERMAN-REDHERRING).
Need proof?
Have a close look at the CRC32 value at offset 0x8C of the cracked exe
included with either Perry.Rhodan.GERMAN-REDHERRING or
Perry.Rhodan.CRACKFiX.GERMAN-REDHERRING.
Quote continues: "... with the german download exe used for crack."
First of all, with minimum research on their part they could've known that no
such thing as a "german download exe" which could aid in cracking the
Solidshield part of the protection even exists. As of today the only
available ones are protected exactly the same way as the boxed retail
edition. So there's simply no way we could've used such kind of binary for
our cracks. Period.
Secondly, anyone with a little knowledge of how modern compilers generate x86
binary code should've seen at a glance that our rebuilt code hasn't been
generated by MSVC (which was used for compiling the original exe). However,
this neither kept Vitality from ripping (i.e. STEALING) all the code
generated by our tools from Perry.Rhodan.CRACKFiX.GERMAN-REDHERRING nor -
which is even funnier - did it keep Deep Silver from declaring our code a rip
from an early beta of the game (maybe we should think about deliberately
degrading our cracks' quality for making them recognizable as such...  ).
Unluckily for vitality we embedded a wide range of watermarks in order to
identify possible crack stealers.
Here's just one example for those who need proof :

There are dozens of others (like e.g. removed redundant code, modified
instruction order et. al., all of which still give functionally equivalent
code) but those are for you to find out...
Finally, as a result of not being able to rebuild the Solidshield VM code on
their own (and obviously not even being able to deal with standard STDCALL
argument passing) they had to include a messy workaround (for some code they
couldn't simply cut & paste from our german exe, 0x62E1F0) which is likely to
cause memory leaks and/or random crashes sooner or later. Not experiencing
any problems is basically just a matter of chance.
Quote continues: "Their exe is also a different/older build. Also most text
is buggy (speechtext, game options, items,..)."
This is simply owing to the fact that we neither put out nor authorized the
english -REDHERRING release. Obviously someone else thought it was a funny
idea to repack the english version with our german crack and release it by
the same name...
Sorry for the long delay of this release, but we wanted to make sure that
everything was ok. As for those who has downloaded any of the prior releases
we have also included the crack in a seperate .rar.

I finished the game without walkthroughs
really sometimes I feel COMPLETELY STUCK I try everything possible and everytime there's perry mocking the shit outta' me
you know what? I just quit the game go do something else and then go back to it later and then I get past the riddle or lever quite fast!
overall a great adventure game I enjoyed it
as for razor1911 release I don't know what the heck it's for I finished the game using the early release no problem encountered , they just cracked the shit outta' it because they're mad as fuck about the new securom
