Went to a store after work today but couldn't find it. They were not able to tell me when it will hit the shelves in Germany. And no pre either, that's sad :/

How is the navigation of the ships? I know i controlled the game with a joystick on C64, but forgot about the controls for the Gold version on PC. Do you control the ships with the mouse, keyboard or even gamepad?

Oh man I bought HL2 and now Pirates! seems to nice a package to not buy (plus I want to support Sid Smile ). But being in Europe sucks right now Sad
And Battle for middle earth seems very good also, guess there is going to be alot of dissapointed familie members at X-mas Twisted Evil

you sure its safedisk 4?


Someone said earlier it's safedisk - when you buy a protection scheme(e.g. Safedisk, Starforce) you get all the updates and new versions for free. I don't see why they would use the older sd3 than sd4 Rolling Eyes

the sad thing is, its the dvd version that is almost uncrackable because of the medium it is on, the normal version which is on cd's can be run easily if using the guide published by cxziso earlier on how to bypass starforce. So guys get the cd version and follow that guide.

Ive been sitting playing the old Pirates on WinUAE. Today I bloody lost a fight with a Spanish Duke! I remember playing this game back on the C64, many a time I would fight with like 30 men against 400. Pretty quick I would have 1 man left and one hit would "kill" you. After the fight I would sit hoping that some (or rather enough) of the remaining 200 spanish seamen would join me so I could still sail my ships Smile

Other than that - I can to this very day draw the map of the caribbien, complete with the cities and all Razz

On the Firaxis page it says it only needs 1.2gb of the harddisk. So its a bloody scam with that DVD Sad

though hmm.. in port royale 2, i was the spanish, by the end of the game i ruled most of the towns.. (spain already owned like 1/2 of them)..

can you make your own nation?

and which is the smallest nation by default?

cant make your own nation, the dutch is the smallest nation when the game starts. That is of course dependant upon the time period Laughing

it should be securom;)

besides safedisc 4 was as i recall used in worms forts, that came out pretty quick.

bah my hate for the dutch might just have to sit this one out Sad

always fun taking over towns for the smallest nation, and turning it into an empire

can you control multiple ships at once (kinda like in port royale 2)

Indeed Atari's distribution method sucks big time, in the end this will only hurt Firaxis. I really feel for all europeans who cant get this game.
