How about wait for a fucking retail? A game that still has 4 months before retail day is not finished 100%, wow what a shock!

the more i see of this game the more it lodges itself into the "must buy" category, the pipe bomb thing is strange, but seeing as the *zombies* are actually like 28 days later *infected*people they are bound to act strange, as their motivation isnt to tear you apart to eat you-hence not sticking to the classic (well for george a romero) zombie kill of head shot, the infected in left 4 dead seem to be taken down with the same body shots that would take down a living human, but i digress
when there is no more room in hell, the D34D will walk the earth

I assume that was directed towards me and my small amounts of criticism I have for it?
It certainly appears that they are pretty far in development and I doubt to much is going to change from here on out. They also seemed to be pretty pleased with what I disliked so I doubt it will change before its released. Even though I noticed a few things I disliked I certainly over all like it and still think its going to be a great game. No game is perfect.

Seems to be the best game to be released this year !
Finally a gaming company realizes how much fun co-op is.

You know what I can't wait for? The bitching about it.
People have been crying forever they want more co-op games. So now we get one, and as soon as other companies see what a cash crop co-op is, and start making co-op games, I guarantee you everyone is going to start bashing them because "they're trying to be like left 4 dead" or copying them and is oh so un-innovative.

The pipe bomb as a weapon is just fine. The zombies chasing after it and attacking it is my problem. But I guess it would be rather useless if they didn't as they are so damn fast. |
Who knows, maybe there's a reason why they do that.
Perhaps the pipe bombs have some kind of stuff on them that attracts the zombies.
Anyway, game looks great, I love coop and can't wait to get this. And considering it's Source, we'll see lots of mods for it too I guess which is always good.

I rather like the box art. It's much more unique and subtle than something like having the four survivors lined up looking tough or whatever, which is what I was expecting.
This is a day one purchase, for me, even though it looks like it will be more expensive than I was hoping (Gamestop says $44.99, which is the highest pricetag I've seen on a single, standalone, non-bundled Valve game since Half-Life 1).
Correcting people since 2007 even if they're not wrong.

Looks like an alien hand at first look, and the greenish color also makes it look like an alien game

give it few months and the price will drop , I'm sure steam version will be cheaper

No, the retail MSRP is the same price as it is on Steam. I prefer to buy the boxed versions of Valve games, because they are the same content and the same price as a download-only copy, and the bonus is that I get a nice box to display on my shelf, which matters to me, because I am a collector.

How is that a "failure"? Two games (from the same publisher, no less) have similar boxart, and thus, one of them "fails"? 90% of game boxes are seriously pretty similar (usually it the heroes standing around looking tough, or some soldiers in a combat scene, et cetera), so I don't think that's fair to say...

It's a pretty iconic rising from the dead pose in the case of 'Left 4 Dead' and 'Dead Space' has a flopping, severed/dead, hand floating around aimlessly in space. Seems apt in both cases. Don't like either cover but as I buy my games online it ain't going to make much of a difference to me.

Anyone notice the rainbow-colored rays of light in the new pics?
Best example: http://www.worthplaying.com/press/290/Left4Dead_061.jpg
I was like 'WTF?'.
EDIT: Dammit, no hotlinking. I mean the second pic on this site: http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=54131

But surely delaying it to make the game better and actually finish it, might just be a good thing.

Perhaps, but Valve has a track record of constantly delaying their titles. You know what would be a better solution? Stop with the premature announcements. Announce the release date when, and only when, the software is READY. That way they don't have to announce yet another delay.
