Thing is that normally you can't tell how good a PES game is until you have played it. However, i do have to say that last years effort, although was still enjoyable to me, was kind of a let down. Hopefully this year they can pull something out of the bag.
LOGiX: i loved EA's Fifa and other series 10 years ago but now they just rehash the same old crap for us PC-users. So don't tell me Fifa will be better than PES, remember that this is the PC-forum not XBOX360 or PS3..

But also remember this year they are using the next gen engine for the PC version so this year will be different for PC users.

Edit: for FIFA i meant.
It will be something inbetween. They said they have improved the PC graphics but it wont be the "next-gen" engine Im afraid.
So to clarify, is Pro Evo still going to be a rehashed PS2 version on the PC
2008 wasn't, why would 2009 be
A while since I played the PC version but I thought it played pretty much like the PS2 one, and nothing like the 360 one. (edit: think I'm thinking of the years before Pro Evo, never mind)
Considering 'next gen' is now 3 years old, you'd think they'd make a half decent attempt at it on the PC, especially FIFA games.

Well it will seem next gen seems as though the current engine could run on Fred Flinstones PC
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced the availability of a playable demo of its forthcoming PES 2009 title for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360 and PC on 2nd October.
Players will be able to select fully licensed Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barcelona club teams, or the licensed Italian or French national sides. The demo will allow users an early taste of the all-new elements set to further bolster PES 2009’s reputation as the definitive football game. All new visuals with completely remodeled players and animations, and new physics routines to ensure the ball behaves more realistically have been included, while the AI of the CPU sides has been enhanced to provide an ever evolving challenge.
The PES 2009 demo will also include promotional videos detailing the new game’s ‘Become a Legend’ and online ‘Legends’ modes, which see the player controlling just one player within a team and attempting to forge a career in football. Starting as a promising 17-year-old, players must force their way into the first team and produce a series of blistering performances which will ultimately result to a move to one of Europe’s biggest sides. Or, on the flipside, poor performances can see a player struggling in the lower leagues and eventually being released…
I hope they fix that fatigue in ML.. i've been trying to play the pes 08 ML and fuck.. it's impossible.. all the defenders get tired at 30min of the first half.. and then it's easy for the other team to score

Is there any word on how many seasons this mode will be? It's the one thing that I enjoyed about FIFA08 and 09 (judging from the demo, it's very much improved) but they only offer 4 seasons. Hope it will let you play untill you want to retire.
