its simple actually. when you buy games limited to 3 (or 10 or whatever) activations, and you use them, all you have to do is mail them your serial along with the code on the back of your bookcase and they will reactivate your account.
after 5 or 10 years, if the activation servers are shut, no doubt a patch will be released removing your need to activate.
a little more hassle for you and a little less for them

As Karmeck has mentioned, you're not buying a game but the license to play that game on whatever PC you install it on.
If you don't like it, then don't agree with the EULA.

Yes you will.
You have to if you want to install the game even though you didn't buy a license.

PC Gamer UK Review 68%
Here a post from another forum...
Spoiler: | I've read it now and it seems the game has had many bad design choices made on it. To summarise:
1. Not enough money. This is due to the fact that in the first game you could sell artifiacts alot to get money but this time the artifacts are invisible and requires a detector to find them and this causes artifact finding to become a grind and also will lead to more unnecessary deaths.
2. Too difficult. This is due to the fact that there are far more enemies and they can also use grenades now. The review even mentions that you might as well forget doing anything at night due to the increase of enemies then.
3. Faction wars are rubbish. The review describes them as contrived, disconnected, arbitrary skirmishes like in a multiplayer game. This just shatters the immersion and atmosphere of the game and that leads me to the last point.
4. Not atmospheric or as scary as the original.
Summary at bottom of review:
Disappointment of the year so far
It's:
More beautiful
More violent
More annoying
It's not: A worthy follow up
Cleverly designed
Oh happy day

Some of those cons are pros for me, especially the lack of money and the higher difficulty...

Download all you want Yondaime, if it's not gonna get cracked you're not playing until you're paying. And boy are you gonna miss out on one hell of a game then.
Anyway, this discussion is based on an ASSUMPTION that CS is gonna use SR7+activation. Maybe they're just using safedisc or a simpler securom like the first stalker.
And who wrote that review? Some retard? Games can't even be challenging anymore these days, they'll have to be easy right from the start till the end...? Like the first STALKER was easy. When you get to the brain scorcher or the NPP, it's always been difficult.

RLD or VTY no sure. they are not yet able to crack steam games. they don't leack and rebuild images. maybe they are just in program to invenct a system to emulate the client from the images

Does Oblivion Lost 2.2 completely disable the ending cinematics? I got STALKER Day 1, but bugs prevented me from finishing it and I just never got around to replaying the whole thing, but now I kinda want to. However, seeing the ending would be the most important part to me.

Hmm.. that is a real shame. Are there any other mods you suggest that are similar?
I am gonna add Sky4CE shader mods, and the spring foliage mod.

Before I started using OL2, I was a huge fan of Faiake's mod. It's only compatible with 1.004, but is easily one of the best mod setups for STALKER. That includes the endings too, as far as I'm aware.

The only really negative point I could see there was how they say it's less atmospheric. That'd be a shame. Sounds like a stupid reviewer though, if he's complaining about difficulty and too little money. Either that or those parts of the games are *really* bad, which I somehow doubt. Besides, there aren't enough hard games out now a days anyway.

He's probably used to reviewing console games, when he got to review a good pc game, it made him cry.

Oblivion Lost is sort of buggy for me. The random lethal radiation and the funny part where tasks won't complete and later the whole game would crash, doors not opening because they are open just somehow got shut into the frame (that's not a serious problem, just throw a bolt at it, yeah opening doors by throwing bolts at them, fucking bizarre), NPC opening locked doors from the inside. Sure bugs are to be expected in a mod but jesus did I get a bad streak or what?

The only "bug" I encountered in OL wasn't a bug, per-sé, rather a design choice that kinda ruined the game for me. Bleeding. The devteam behind the mod have made bleeding far too damaging, unfortunately. It only takes a single swipe from a Pseudo-dog before you start bleeding .. and once you start, you never stop. If you don't bandage yourself fast enough, the bleeding gets worse and worse, eventually haemorrhaging and dying from blood loss.
It wouldn't have been so bad if bandages were easy to come by, or were cheap and light enough to afford having a stock of them .. but they're not.
Completely ruined the game for me.
As far as the "best mod" goes, my vote still goes to Faiakes. Simply because it's the most polished, even if it isn't the most feature packed. I just HATE the way he removed Blowouts, Sleep and dreaming from his latest version.
What a fucking waste.

Well GSC did cooperate quite a bit with the AMK team during development so due to that Clear Sky is very similar to the AMK mod but a bit more polished.
(Or not, various Russian comments mention crashes and issues and the recently released 1.5.3 patch seems to only have fixed some of the problems.)
Learned all sorts of things via the unpacker I linked to a page or two back as well but I haven't tried translating anything as to avoid spoilers but so far it's extremely similar to Shadow of Chernobyl. (Most retextures can be ported right over but a lot of them are already altered to use the previous 1154 and 2215 alpha textures which are much more realistic than the textures in the retail game of SoC.)
I also found out that there's 12 zones in the game and of those four are new with the rest being re-visits and probably heavily altered.

Probably fake due to some of those instructions and the mention of Daemon Tools.
Why Daemon Tools? simple, latest Star-Force takes control over the computer and locks out all external processes (or something like that, easily seen as you can't even move the mouse during verification.) while it verifies the disc and Daemon Tools or rather the underlying SPTD drivers crash due to this resulting in a BSOD.
(Known issue but seems it's hard to fix.)
EDIT: There's a lot of fakes and false information by the way.
