Well, I d/l this, went to play it and this time my 360 died on me completely. It was already broken since last year, applied the x-clamp, working from time to time (had to open it up, take everything apart and put it back together). I'm thinking of getting an arcade version with the intention to flash it of course... Problem is, I can't find one. Will have to hold out I guess...

Damn, that robot boss is fucking hard, i cant kill the flying things either.
Edit: lol i got it after i died 10 times, the flying things u can kill with a plasma gun, its resistant to laser guns.

feels kind of generic, plays kind of dumb...
..still it's surprisingly addictive^^
biggest disappointment is the skill tree... pretty useless if you ask me (then again i'm only on level 9 or sth.) also the combat could've been designed to be more complex (as it stands there are like what.. three different melee attacks?)
And what about that 10 hour campaign? Way too short, especially for a game like this..
camera and controls take some time to get used to but are by no means broken as some reviews stated..
and while animations look kinda goofy at times, the graphics in general are top-notch (environmental architecture, models, textures)
what keeps you playing are the bossfights which are actually worthwile, the kind of shallow but nicely presented story and, above all, of course the rewarding "PHAT LEWT" (yeah sry, i've been playing WoW for some time  )
7/10

I see this game as the "next generation" version of Phantasy Star Online/Universe. PSO was absolutely incredible, but that too had less emphasis on the storyline and more emphasis on loot-hunts and online play. While this game has a far better storyline, the emphasis is still on online and loot hunting.
The 10hr campaign, I guess, is just to get you acclimatised to the controls and mechanics - training you for the online games.

Despite the reviews I gave it a go. I actually quite like it, it's definately not brilliant nor groundbreaking, but it's solid fun. Flaws aplenty but lots of positives too. The universe is nice and the story is ok, graphically at times it's very good. Some of the animations are pretty poor though. Worth a shot for sure.

oh you guys!!! you are almost tempting me to waste a verb...I dont like RPGs and I tend to agree with most Gamespot reviews. So theoretically this would be a one time 5 minute play and forget game but all you guys playing it 6-8 hrs straight are telling me this game is uberfun and addictive. I wonder if there are any here that hated Mass effect and liking this one. If theres one, I will try this out!!!!

This game....fuck. I hated the demo. I hated the controls, the graphics, the LOST-esque "flashback" telling of the story (from the demo). I loved the items though...and the 360 doesn't really have any action RPGs that are item/character centric, except maybe Marvel UA. I don't trust demos though, and rented this one...and something changed...
I don't know why but I love this game. Yet I still hate it. The story is even interesting if you're familiar or interested at all in mythology. The itemization is fantastic. I'm in love with choosing all the right runes/charms/gear for my guy. Playing with the skill tree to maximise my damage. I love how once you get started in a battle, you can just flow through it in some sort of ballet of carnage. RS..RS..Fierce..Slide...RB...Juggle..Air slide...bam bam bam!
On the other hand some of the areas ar so unfairly cheap I get so pissed I'm ready to bite a chunk out of my fucking xbox. Like the Ice Forest. Fuck how the hell am I supposed to dodge 3 trolls, a spider, and a handfull of missle goblins? FUCK DIED AGAIN FUCKFUCKFUCK!! Then Helheim with is floating fatso asshole necromancers and exploding wraiths. FUCK what was that my 100000th death?! FUCK YOU!
The game can be summerised:
Mission 1 -> easy as breathing
Mission 2 -> honestly, just stick the game box in your ass without lube. It'll be more fun I promise.
Mission 3 -> zzzzzzz....oh am I finished already? (cool boss battle though)
Mission 4 -> this time, add the xbox and your tv up your ass with the game, then stick your head in there and play it.
Honestly...the game is fun. Ridiculously addictively fun. I'll add my ranks to the played for 8 hours straight group. Multiple times even. It's also just so comepletely horribly unbalanced. It was not playtested at all. I promise you this. I'm torn though. I want to buy it, because I know I'll come back for the online...hell I dare say this is my Diablo for 360, but again, I'm scared this game will piss me off so much I'll break something really expensive I mean, I was playing the second level at 4am last night and ended up waking up my wife cause I was screaming profanities so loud.

I've been playing the first mission and a small part of the second one, I'm liking it. It's a simple hack 'n slash, but it's great in what it does. 8/10 so far.
I'm playing a Chamion and I can't figure out juggling. As I understood it it's launching the enemy into the air and doing some asskicking while flying. The launching isn't the problem, but I can't seem to get them while they are flying. It has worked a couple of times, but it was more luck than wisdom. So how exactly do I juggle?

hehe, no. i am obviously talking about the frustration part and the fact its still a nice game dispite of the many flaws this game has. So maybe you should ventilate your fantasy's somewhere else cause its kinda embarrasing.
