The first ever look at the recently announced GTA IV PC version has been published via IGN today. The PC version will feature more multiplayer features, better graphics and a new replay and montage editor - no word yet on community mods. On the show floor, Rockstar gave a brief demo of the game running, using the mission ‘Four Leaf Clover’.

The replay feature will work by constantly recording you playing, so if you pull of a sweet jump or kill, you can rewind up to 30 seconds. You can then edit the footage such as add filters [black and white ect] and fade in/out before uploading to the Rockstar Social Club to show off to your friends. The multiplayer will be improved with better search options to find the game with the specific rules you are wanting. Oh, and Rockstar has confirmed that 2560 x 1600 will be the maximum resolution. Expect more previews over the coming days…

Rockstar is bringing its open-ended crime series to the PC with GTA IV, returning the franchise to New York situated around the Eastern European protagonist Nikolai. The replay editor will record the last 30 seconds of game footage, then let you cut & edit it to share on Rockstar Social Club. The multiplayer count will be increased with a variety of server filters, while the updated gfx engine will support higher resolutions, improved lighting, animations, character and environment detail.

draw distance was pretty good anyway on the console version, atleast from what I noticed.

Though that doesn't change anything, you're right.

Hello console fanboy and welcome to our section of the forum. No it doesn't look the same, final PC version will look vastly better and will be vastly superior to console versions in terms of technical standpoint (with possibility to crank up resolution of up to almost 3x higher than console versions, better textures, no textures pop ins, high framerate, high AA and AF) and gameplay (improved MP, PROPER mouse + kb controls, and other improvements and features, such as possibility of modding). Have a nice day.

Seriously, you are just as much a fanboy as he is.. Whats wrong with liking a console and a pc? Its not war, its just games. Get a life?
Feel free to flame and attempt to "pwn" me, i wont be reading it so you will fail Smile

Your point is valid, but using a 42 inch plasma to prove it is stupid... Laughing Plus, plasmas are usually 1024x768 so that's even worse.

But yeah, I'd prefer to wait a few months and get a superior version (even if it's only for the much higher resolution of 1920x1200 and up), rather than settle for a shitty version now.

The console version being released earlier doesn't change the fact that resolution and AA/AF are better in the pc version.

Not flaming or fanboysm, but it's just fact, live with it.

If GTA4 on consoles was a "shitty" game, then the additions of more MP slots, higher max resolution and max draw distance, and a replay editor wouldn't fix that.

It's an excellent game already, that will have a few tweaks for the PC platform. But it's a great game already, on consoles (yes, I know this is hard for PC fanboys to admit, at times).

Plasma's often had 4:3 resolution on a widescreen format. Don't ask me why, but it's true. Don't know how it's with current plasma's (been out of the business a while), but older plasma's had those resolutions.

Edit:
Link to prove it, this is a CURRENT panasonic plasma.
