i was single for quite some time (not counting "relations" that lasted only a couple days/weeks at best), and now im falling in love (and vice-versa) to several girls ... oh the misery...
btw one is 17 and the other 31 and has 4 kids ...
(i'm 28 , go figure)

Although I partly agree with you shrimp, the first 30 seconds is usually what makes up someone's mind to be either interested or not, and this is allways based on looks, especially true for beatiful women. If you however persevere and show that you are an interesting person then yes many will be more open, but as to say 100%, nah I just don't believe it.

not to be rude... but you live in a sad shallow world.
I dated me a model, granted only for 6 months, but still a model and i aint got no pecks, or long necks, or a dimple or sum shit and i ain't purdderiffic. :> Looks don't even matter for a one night stand mate. as long as you don't look like a troll and i mean; long puffy ears, ugly saggy eyes, lips that look they've been kissing dirt for the past4 months and you figure makes gnomes look like they have a better posture.
Y'know cause to be fair and frank and honest if you date someone for the looks or even appear remotely interested in someone based on their looks... all you'll get out of it is sex. Granted great sex. But shallow, meaingless sex. While you might think she heart heart heart hearts you and you really do heart heart heart heart her, she will leave you for a guy with bigger pecks, and a bigger dick. It's how it is. Its how it will always be if you go out for looks.
Basically, when a guy is 100% about his appearance and believes it's what women want then, sorry, he's overcompensating for something. Lack of character (nah you got character) lack of hair (nah you ain't bald) lack of something important... yah.
And also there's an age factor.  you won't have the same body at the age of 50, and neither will your amazing busty wife of 25 that you married now. What then? Divorce her and get a new one? 
And it's also true that guys who care most about looks really do lack a lot of things.

Well my IQ is in the high 120's, I have plenty of character, I do miss some of my hair but I don't give a fuck, and I don't know what country you come from Waldo but looks to me like that one gal model was a one off, overhere you can be the most interesting person on the planet with a good steady job, drive a nice car but you won't get a hot chick, its as simple as that. And I don't want a hot chick, I want a smart chick that looks nice enough, I hate dumb girls as I cannot relate to them.
Once i went to sweden and I could get every chick I wanted, why, only god knows, overhere they are mostly pompous, biased and basically stuck up, when I drive 350km up north girls change like day and night. So its most defenitely my country thats to blame, maybe I am just picky, but better to be picky then desperate and go for the first chick that comes along.
So Waldo, sorry if you had the idea that I only go for looks, I don't, and I don't only use my body to my advantage, i mainly use my mouth, all the rest is added weight in the scale.

Wow. I'm really shocked. I thought some women here were shallow and it just made me dislike the populous of super sleazy slutty dressed girls... but man oh man you got it bad. you got a shit place in the world. Come to canada. You got the looks, the character, the iq ( i skimmed through the test, randomly answered, and got 138. that was when i was 16. Brap!) and you got some hair. Lotta decent women here and even the gorgeous super model types aren't THAT shallow.

Well, my country is famous for the prude women, I think its the most prude country in the world, I been to Brazil, Sweden, Holland, France, Spain and once to Amerika and all these places are like I am in a new universe). Overhere when you flirt and you aren't a dropdead stud they immediately think you'r a rapist, so they either like you from the first getgo(which only happens in 15% of the cases)or they just don't even want to hear what you have to say. Also in my country its normal for women to hold out on sex for months on end, the ones that don't are usually most desperate or ugly.
My country has been plagued by child molesters and the media pumped this up so hard that parents indoctrinate their children so hard these days that it really gets difficult for guys, they'r so on their toes, its really fucked up.
So yeah, now you see where I am coming from, even if you had an IQ of 135 and blabbed all day(shit that women just love and one of my great qualities cuz I can blab all night long and never stop), that shit don't even work here but it works everywhere else in the world. So being interesting doesn't work.
Sometimes I indeed wished I lived in Sweden, Canada, or these other places, take for example a friend of mine, he's short, he's got a beer belly the likes you seldom see, he's got crooked teeth but he works in the military and often visits america and sweden for his work and he too can confirm that our country is just a sad fucked up place to find women(he found his girl up north, the place 350km from where i live, go there and you can snap one up the same night).

Anyway, just thought I would add my piece of self-pity to this thread. I broke up with my girlfriend of 5 months today, apparently I'm not 'committed' enough, although it's probably because I was flirting (harmlessly) with another girl on sunday night. I'm not too distressed by it, but I still have a mild version of that stomach churning bullshit that usually accompanies break-ups. I hate being the one getting dumped!

Animal, if she feeds you that load of bullocks then she was already thinking about it long before you were flirting with another girl:) So you actually got dumped much sooner than you thought, if it really was harmless flirting then she could have easily handled it differently, so she just didn't like you anymore, simple as that.

Yeah the flirting has been pretty typical behaviour from me for the past couple of months, I've been looking for another bird for a while. Not exactly sure why I allowed the relationship to drag on when I already knew it had no future.
Even though my emotional investment was low, it still pisses me off that she did the dumping.

For that you only have yourself to blame, and you are exactly, and I do mean EXACTLY the same as me, when I had this girl few months back, I only stayed with her for the sex, I wasn't really in love and I kept dragging it along, I kinda liked her but I certainly didn't love her. So in the end she dumped me cuz she knew I had no feelings for her:) And she was fully right to do it, I don't hold anything against her. So now with this latest bird which I in fact was in love with and it didn't work out on her end(as she didn't fall in love with me), that was in fact a harder nut to crack.

I think it may have been more then just that though. I think i might have dealt with some of those feelings that i had been stuffing. Either way, I still feel great. I think part of it was getting back into something I loved so much. I haven't been to a party since '06 and when I went it was with my X so i think that may have tainted the experience.

yeah, i know. Been there, done that. And i know that the feeling of loss will go away eventually, but its hard to stop caring from one day to the next and give up the hopes and dreams invested in a relationship. I cant even be mad with her, because she actually was decent enough to break off the relationship before she slept with somebody else. That she went out and fell in love with somebody else while the relationship was still good / great is something i m pretty much devasted about, but it happens and i cant blame anybody for that really either...
...i just wish that all my understanding would take away some of the hurt, but it doesnt. I m sure i ll find a girl in the future, but it ll be hard to find someone as cute, nice, funny and nerdy at the same time. But sure it ll be easy to find someone who is less problematic and somewhat more mature, so i m optimistic that this isnt the end. Just a fucked up, forced-upon, new beginning of sorts, that i didnt ask for... |
